Best staredowns in boxing history.......

    I always thought Iron Mike's stare was akin to that of a wild animal, ready to explode at any moment, whilst Nigel Benn's and Tommy Hearns' were not for the faint hearted either.

    While the attachment below shows only the last few seconds (unfortunately), this staredown between LLoyd Honeyghan and Johnny Bumphus was amusing and tense in equal measures.

    Both fighters, who both seemed right 'up' for it, actually came within millimetres of each others faces in a face off that would not be allowed by today's referees.

    Anyone got a clip which compares to this for intensity?

    Why does everyone keep picking Tyson for stare down?! Ring walk, yes, stare down, no, not at all, he often looked quite unsure.

    There are so many stare downs to chose from in boxing history, but this was one of the best stare downs that I ever saw lol...:good

    Because according to wonderful boxing forum logic, if you do something like once or twice in your career, it often represents what you ALWAYS did.

    It's too much work to you know, actually watch other fights of theirs.

    Trinidad-Carr was funny because "Crocodile"...who used to be in Tyson's corner after he got out of jail made Tito laugh by threatening Tito before Tito beat te shite out of Carr.

    Not unsure. Tyson just usually didn't bother with staredowns. He did it in some of his fights, but most of the times he let the other guy act tough, because he knew it was futile in the end :D.

    It might be that, yeah, but I wonder sometimes...Bruno for example...but your explanation is absolutley fine with me. Point is, he's not a staredown guy.
