What are the best fights to be made at Super Middleweight? One of the best weights in modern Boxing. Here in the USA we have a top 5 P4Per Andre Ward heading it, Kelly Pavlik and Andre Dirrell also near the top of the weight class, Plus some contenders like Edwin Rodriguez, Will Rosinsky, ect. Canada is also big with top contenders Lucian Bute and Adonis Stevenson, Over in the UK you got the clear star Carl Froch, Prospects George Groves, James DeGale and others, Other parts of Europe are also packed, Powerful Irish contender Brian Magee, Former titleholder Karoly Balzsay of Hungary, Robert Stieglitz/Arthur Abraham in Germany, Marco Antonio Periban, Librado Andrade, and now Marco Antonio Rubio from Mexico, and also hopefuls Mohammed N'Diaye, Andrea Di Luisa of Italy, Thomas Oosthuizen, Isaac Chilemba, Sakio Bika ( Born in Cameroon, Raised in Australia, lives in American. ) from different parts of Africa, among many others. So what are the best fights to be made now? Many to see. I like these: Andre Ward Vs. Andre Dirrell - Two fast, " slick " top 5 guys at 168lbs. Big in the United States. Would be an excellent boxing match. I would pick the highly skilled Ward by close UD. Sure it would land on either HBO or Showtime and end up gaining much hype as a great stylistic fight. Marco Antonio Rubio Vs. Librado Andrade - Rubio moving up in weight will have to cope with good power and needs a test. Andrade has a rock solid chin usually but has faded some and was recently knocked out. He would test how Rubio handles the weight, and Mexicans would love it. I would pick Rubio but no less then a war as it lasted. Will Rosinsky Vs. Mike Lee - Shame this fight didn't land on the Martinez-Chavez Jr bill this weekend as Rosinsky wanted it. Rosinsky is a tough Queens based contender known for having high stamina, He is a short stocky fighter who comes forward and puts tons of pressure on his opponents. Lee is an untested, undefeated American prospect. Nice fight shame Lee didn't take it and instead fought a bum on Maravilla-Chavez James DeGale Vs. Andrea Di Luisa - Like the idea of this fight. DeGale has quality skills and fundamentals and would likely be the favorite but Di Luisa is a good fighter I have also been following for a while from Italy and he could easily make an upset. Both have some lingering limitations, both only once defeated. Overall to me it just adds up. Mikkel Kessler Vs. Carl Froch 2 - Pretty clear fight seeing how good and close the first one between Denmark's Mikkel " The Viking Warrior " Kessler and the United Kingdom's Carl " The Cobra " Froch. Kessler just edged it but some believe it went the other way. And Froch has clearly earned the chance with a giant knockout win to long reigning IBF champion Lucian Bute earlier this year. :bbb I'll continue to add. Start naming can't list forever.
Pavlik v Froch Bute v Ward Bika v Froch Dirrell v Bika Also Bute and Kessler are mid-range guys boxer-puncher type with power, that could be interesting to These one I'll be interested in seeing.
Still like to see Bute-Ward. While Ward is improving his power still no KO artist and might just test Ward. We'll see. :good
Ronald "The Thrill" Gavril has a good amateur background lack the power a bit like Ward... or the Ko technique, need to work on his jab, he's quite unpolished right now. And I doubt a little James Toney's trainer skills to mold him into a good boxer. But he has some talent I want to see him against a decent guy at least if not a guy like Groves. The fights that would be the most exciting would all involved: Pavlik Abraham Stevenson Bika Any combination of those four: Pavlik v Bika Stevenson v Abraham Abraham v Bika Pavlik v Stevenson Have those 4 in a Hard Hitters Super Middle Weight Tournament.
