I'm currently working on switch hitting in the gym and its going well, does anyone know of any fighters i could watch to gain inspiration?
maybe cotto before margo nailed him. dont think he was a true switch hitter but im sure he did used to switch it up abit..
Naz, Errol Graham and basically any of Ingle's best fighters had switch hitting masters but the fact that they all had such an unconventional style make it difficult for you to learn from them.
Naseem - Switched very often, and carried power in either stance. But unless you box in the same style as him, I advise you not to try.
Marvin Hagler's switch hitting against leonard cost him the decision.Going orthodox early and giving away rounds.
Some not so obvious examples: Jim Jeffries switch hit in at least one of his fights (Sharkey II), perhaps because he had injured his left. Max Baer is known to have switch hit in at least one of his fights. One master switch hitter who we unfortunately don't have film of is Tiger Flowers.
I'm not really sure who'd I'd call the "best switch hitter" of all time, but just to give you some advice...practice over and over with your least dominant hand. After a few months, you'll see some improvement.
