Aside from Hagler, who would you say was succesfull using this tactic? Feel free to link any fights as examples please.
Hagler was top top of my list for a long time...but it's Terrence Crawford now, and to a different level...and with that said Tyson Fury isn't/wasn't bad at it...
Naseem Hamed Chiquita Gonzalez There's an old timer we don't have much footage of who was famous for this. Maybe tiger jack fox. Hmm... someone will remember.
Former bantamweight champ Rodolfo Martinez was good at this. He was getting his butt kicked pretty good in a title defense against Venice Borkorsor. Dropped once and generally beaten after 4 rounds when he turned southpaw (his natural stance but was converted early on as an amateur) in the 5th. He went on to turn the tables on Borkorsor and retain his title. He also turned southpaw defending against Carlos Zarate and immediately hurt Zarate in the 3rd round. But unfortunately for Martinez, Zarate recovered and took his title that night. Still, Martinez was able to switch-hit when he needed to.
Mostly recent names but... James DeGale is quite good. Terence Crawford isn't as dominating with the southpaw stance but he is very good. But the reigning olympic champion at middleweight, Arlen Lopez, is in my opinion the best switch hitter in boxing, you can't tell which is his natural stance.
Let us know what you think. If you know what's good for you. LoL, I'm joking, let us know what you think. I think switching stances can be really effective if trained well enough and skilled well enough. Can really mess up another dudes timing having a guy that switches back and forth effectively.
