Best tactic against Wlads holding?

Wrong Wlad use to fight like a man until his glass chin got exposed. Steward taught Wlad how to fight like a coward but Wlad has taken to another level. He holds with out ever throwing a punch.

 

I don't speak on fights that I haven't seen.

I've seen all 3 and he tried to grab all 3 just as he does today but he couldn't grab them.

 

Watch the Brewster and Sanders fights ASAP.

 

Lots of bad suggestions in this thread. The only thing you can do is try to actually fight when you are in the clinch - try to punch him to the body, try to get your arms loose, show the ref you want to fight - top refs are on record saying that they will only deduct points from an excessive holder if the other guy is showing he actually wants to fight and doesn't just lay still in the clinch.

 

If you're being intentionally fouled without getting any consideration from the referee, do the same in your own way(low blows, rabbit punches and so on). There's no reason any fighter should accept being grabbed to death all night.

 

Sanders fight he wasn't with Steward and first Brewster fight was literally his first training camp with Steward.

 

1) Mike Tyson tactic
As he moves to lean on you in the Clinch, take a half step back, pivot around for a better angle, an throw an uppercut into his leaning chin.
Pivot around his side again, Repeat.


2) Holyfield tactic
As he grabs you, bar your lead forearm across his collarbone/neck area, then position your head between his sternum. If you've got a Holyfield type head, use this position to headbutt Wladimir from underneath.
With the top of your forehead as a battering ram you might be able to smash into his chin or the bridge of his nose! Repeat.:thumbsup

Make it brutal make it physical, Wlads not a natural fighter he's a boxer.

As you have said make it rough, position your body to make it harder to clinch by either using your shoulder or elbow as a barrier which will also create space to punch.

Also if you have the hand speed don't do what Haye did and try and counter all the time. Get off first beat Wlad to the punch and then follow the required tactics to deal with the clinching.

 

simple a ref that doesn't allow holding but of course the klits will never fight in usa because of this reason

IMO it's gona take somebody as big and as strong as Wlad to beat him. He needs to be bullied the same way he bullies his opponents.

when Wlad jumps on your back, do what Holyfield did to Lewis in their first fight... lift the fool up by his legs. but look to slam him down on his head as well. that, and whacking him as hard as you can muster in the balls. try to really hurt the cheating little *****.
