Who has the best takedowns between these three guys in your opinion?

    GSP vs other ww's

    Sonnen vs other mw's

    Velasquez vs other hw's

GSP's UFC division has more wrestlers, so it is difficult for his TDs to look good in that setting,

Sonnen seems like the most capable TD "artist" out of the 3, never really seen him have many problems,

Velasquez not sure, we will see against JDS

I think Evans and Jones deserve shouts as well

I'm not saying these three are the best out of everyone, just asking who people think is the best of these particular three. I'm well aware that Bones is a tremendous TD artist, the way he handled Bader and Hamill was frightening.

If I ever made a thread about the best TD artist full stop, then Josh Koscheck would definitely be in it. I think he is a wanker and I know many people don't like him, but for pure takedown and wrestling ability he is sublime, right up there with the best of them. Even with a busted eye in the GSP rematch, he held his own in the wrestling department I thought.

I would have like to say GSP (not lately) but the way Sonnen took Nate down like he did was incredible. Nate was thrown around, and hes a big dude with good TD defense.

I haven't seen much of King Mo. Will need to check him out. Yes, Edgar is excellent at quick TDs.

Mo have tremendous credentials outside of MMA, but he struggled pretty badly with Feijao. He took Gegard down with ease, but that was aided by Gegard's utter lack of TDD. I don't know if I'm ready to rank him with the other top MMA wrestlers.

Ya, being a Gegard fan, that fight is still imprinted on my memory, he is not so proven I guess

Another thing to note is that Chael never struggles for a takedown whereas GSP, Kos, Edgar has.

Jon Jones has a young career but his takedowns are ballistic and seems to be unstoppable so far.

Yeah, I think that Jones may prove to be the most effective wrestler in the sport. I don't recall him ever not completing a takedown that he has committed to, and I don't believe that he has ever been taken down.

I'm actually quite interested in seeing him fight off of his back. I envision a lot of Anderson-like movement (elbows to the top of the head, body triangles, etc.)

You know, this kid is so explosive and strong, I wouldnt be surprised if he didnt bridge out or sweep violently out of a guard.

gsp because technically sound his takedowns are ****ing impressive, as sonnen and velasquez kinda just use brute strength.
