Maybe, but it is his own son who he's trained since he was a little kid. So if he was this super brilliant trainer, surely his own son who he's spent the most time training would be better than that. But, It was just super cringeworthy how Charles was talking him up to be something he completely wasn't. Hilarious really. Here's some quotes ''He is a thinker, very smart with whatever he does. He is a perfectionist. Stylistically, the nearest person he resembles is Tyson Fury. His style is similar to Fury's. He is elusive, fast, agile and has incredible boxing IQ. George has many, many attributes. He hardly ever gets hit. It is hard to land a clean shot on George, similar to Fury.'' How far can he go? ''I am not a typical father who says their son is the best thing since sliced bread. But I can tell you that my son, as a heavyweight, is very good. He is extraordinary. If he wasn't my son, I would say the same thing. I would give an arm and a leg to have a heavyweight like him - and he just happens to be my son.''
I still like booth and ingle. Have the best defense strategy of them all. Your going to get hit at the top level but a lot of booth and ingle fighters have been trained well on defence. Ingle with the footwork and booth sets them up with the power hand always ready.....enough to discourage opponents coming forward with reckless abandon. Both give their opponents something to think about coming forward more than the other trainers. Charles doing well atm. Not that technical....but small similarity to billy graham....using offence as a form of defense.
Maybe there's some truth in that but Chans dad who used to post on checkhook was dropping hints on Chans treatment by Shane for a while before she left. Probably a bit of both tbf.
Only thing with Booth is you need power to suit his wide jab stance. That’s why Kelly and Conlan have struggled at the top level as they couldn’t keep fighters off them. It’s gone a bit quiet with Ingle. Who does he even train these days?
Literally yesterday I asked who is currently the best coach in boxing (worldwide) and the responses were mostly coaches outside the UK. So it got me wondering…..as I’m from the UK who is currently the best coach in the UK, my opinion is Shane Mcgugian…..although controversially I do have a soft spot for Ben Davison I like how he is so analytical or at least comes across that way. So my question is…..who do you guys think is currently the best trainer from the UK?

I already made a thread about this in the British forum.. go look. My top 5 would be: 1. Shane Mcguigan 2. Rob Mccracken 3. Ben Davison 4. Paul Stevenson 5. Tony Sims
Have to go with McGuigan as the best, someone as untalented as CBS (one of my fave fighters) made it world champ under his craftsmanship is a huge achievement.
How is it? Some of us can see where Bakole is going and that's to the top and @billy nelson is to be credited for that along with the talent of the monster bakole who is a massive man and very skilled.
Untalented is very harsh, and wrong. CBS would probably have been Euro level without the Mcguigans, he has excellent toughness, chin and stamina, and decent ability, and puts in 100%. Untalented would be more relevant to someone like Lee Cutler, who's trained by them and on good form right now.
Tbh with you Saf, I think you need more than two success stories to be a seen as an excellent trainer. He was a one hit wonder until Bakole's rise recently. I might be wrong, but I don't think Bakole will win a world title. His level is more contender Pulev/Whyte type level.
