Kelly and conlan struggled at the top level because their not really good enough to beat everyone at the top level. What your saying would only really be true if without booths wide jab stance etc they wouldnt have struggled at that top level. Their just not quite good enough for it regardless of who trained them.

The good thing about booth fighters is their usually the ones doing the offence. It can fall short but usually the tide turns and his fighter losses kind of quickly after the opponents took your best shots. In terms of coaching boxing its a decent system as opposed to a lot of coaches defence being let him hit you until he tires or a battle of attrition.

Not sure about ingle atm. Tbf its mostly the stuff his dad taught. Hes just carried it on. Both booth and ingle styles give the opponent something to think about to stop them coming forward as much. Ingle footwork/switch hitting always awkward to fight. Booths style always got something waiting for you coming in. And a gap to close.

Looking at the other coaches they dont seem to have styles that discourage the opponent from coming in on them the same.

CBS is someone that wasn't a world champion because of talent, it was because of pure hard work and graft - and fantastic coaching. He was seen as the runt of the litter basically which was an admission by McGuigan. Guys like Okolie and Riakporhe are physically gifted, and were/are absolute behemoths for their size, whereas Opetaia and Zurdo are technically gifted. CBS isn't particularly technically or physically gifted like these guys.

McGuigan has also admitted that CBS being world champion was his greatest achievement.

It is one of the reasons why I really respect CBS, it goes to show you don't need to be physically or technically gifted to do well in this sport. The mental side in boxing is everything.
