Once you read those names, you know he worked out of Chicago.

BoxRec also says he trained Tommy White and Billy Stift, two guys who must've been big players in their divisions considering the all-time greats they fought.

Is there any other notables he tutored?

Harry Forbes, bantam champ; Martin Duffy, 'white' title claimant; Jack O'Keefe, another 'white' title claimant.

According to Abe Pollock, Gilmore also trained Harry Harris and Benny Yanger, among others.

    I'm not a fan of the Petronelli's.

I thought their corner work against Leonard was far too laid back.

    " One swallow "etc

Undecided on Clancy ,the above may apply.

Good call on Grey and Whitey Esnault. Whitey was largely responsible for what used to be the New Orleans style, typified by the Docusen brothers, Willie Pastrano, and Ralph Dupas. He also trained Tony Licata but died before making him a finished product.

Arcel is overrated. it was the talent he had that he made his name on. It's not coicidence, its the fighters he had that had the best talent, same as in pro football. it's the teams with the most talent that go to and win it all. same in boxing

Steward is a recognizable name but why didnt he teach Tommy to at least clinch and teach him better defense. he's really not that great a trainer

personally I like Abel Sanchez, trainer of Terry Norris. Look how complete his defense was in the SRL fight. it was a great blueprint from team Norris that Terry put into effect to perfection, pulling off the upset of upsets
