In terms of 'best' boxing ability, it's close between Herol Graham and Colin McMillan. And Kirkland Laing got by on natural talent alone - he was an alcoholic and pro boxer at the same time, trained for most fights by night clubbing/dancing and having sex. So he was very talented, even out-classed Duran when he decided to train. The greatest British fighter though is probably Ted 'Kid' Lewis.
Tommy Farr - althought not that highly rated I remember hearing something about him losing a controversial decision to Joe Louis . . . never scored the fight so i wouldnt know
The fight is on youtube. It wasnt so controversial. ive not watched it in ages but i think Tommy held his own in the early and middle rounds. Louis dominated the latter ones. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ghg2pz7eBk0[/ame]
