1. Prince Naseem Hamed 2. Roy jones Jr 3. aron Pryor 4. Pernell whitaker 5, Mike tyson (trainers invented aggressive close quater style) rooney first. 6. jorge paez 7. Razor ruddick "lead uppercut as primary attack"
I agree with everyone on there (tho I would probably take Tyson off)...but no so much in that order. Naz had the most unorthodox, but I wouldnt say anything close to the best.
Sam Soliman isnt up with those guys by a long shot but his style surely works. He has very little boxing skill, just an extremely fit and energetic bloke who never stops moving and throwing punches from awkward angles.
I think Pernell Whitaker was a little to technically sound and textbook to be called "unorthodox".. His amazing alien defense might I guess you can call it unorthodox but his offense wasn't.
If im not mistaken pernell was the first fighter to go down to knee level shifting and squating as part of his repertoire.
Tim Witherspoon had an unusual stance and pose, the way he held his arms. It gave Holmes serious trouble, in fact I believe he should have gotten the decision in that fight.
big george had a wierd style for a heavywieght back in the 70s he looked like a mummy as ali put it,plus he threw alot of uppercuts from wierd angles.
