It's the one punch I think the heavyweights could claim to do better than anyone else.

I think Louis had the most perfect uppercut in that division. An he lands an absoltuley beautiful one on Bivins, that would be up there. Also, look to Liston on Patterson. My oh my.

Tyson is a good shout too.

Michael Spinks uppercut on Marvin Johnson was a nasty affair. Marvin never knew what hit him.

Foreman's uppercut on Joe Frazier was the greatest of all (1) it was landed on an all-time Joe Frazier (2) second to none in terms of power or leverage.

Walcott's uppercut, while impressive (especially how sneakily he landed it) - is not as devastating as Foreman's. The fact that it landed on Charles enhanced its look.

Lewis. Tyson. But the best single uppercut landed has to be Joe Louis vs Paulino Uzcudun... Louis said it was the single hardest punch he ever landed- I have it on tape- He supposedly drove Uzcudun's mouthpiece up through his upper lip. (fight-stopping knockout punch)

    Ruddock's smash on Michael Dokes.

Mike Tyson, as far as best. It almost saved him against Douglas.

best uppercut i ever saw landed or thrown was in the golota-bowe II. the one where the Foul Pole landed three consecutive uppercuts to bowes coinpurse effectivly ending bowes career. thosee were the most vicious of shots

Well, isn't that your (1) point? Charles is an all-time great also, which makes what Walcott did all the more impressive, just like Foreman doing it to Frazier.

Eric Morales had a beautiful uppercut throughout his rise and prime. I remember a fight- and perhaps someone can remind my aging brain which it was- where had a guy against the rope and ended matters with one right uppercut underneath his opponents left hook. It was a thing of pure beauty.

Many would hold Joe Frazier in considerably higher regard than Charles, among the heavyweights. More importantly, Charles did not have a particularly good chin whereas Frazier, while he did not have the best chin, did have a pretty good one. Only two fighters ever stopped him. No doubt - KO'ing Joe Frazier is much more impressive than Charles in terms of chin.

I'm not a big fan of the "oh he weighed only 215 lb whereas so and so weighed 600 lb and would crush him". However, you NEVER hear someone accuse Joe Frazier of being a "blown up" cruiserweight (even though the numbers are negligibly different). Joe Frazier is frequently found in the top 10 list (where he belongs) or just outside whereas Charles is rarely included in anyone's top 10 list among heavyweights. I think the uppercut against Frazier is more impressive. To do what Foreman did to Frazier - I have never seen a greater domination of a great fighter (except Hearns-Duran but this is completely unfair in terms of weight class). I do admit though - I'm probably grossly underestimating how much Joe Frazier lost after the FOTC.
