Out of the current crop of Uzbek fighters coming out now, Akhmadaliev, Melikuziev, Giyasov, Madrimov, Ergashev, Jalolov and Dusmatov, who do you think has the highest ceiling? I know Akhmadaliev is already a unified champion beating Danny Roman, but personally I feel like Melikuziev has the best potential out of the bunch.
Melikuziev for the future. I can see Madrimov being a player at 154 if he continues, Giyasov is decent but needs to continue forward and Jalovov is solid, will be a contender someday. Not sure about Ergashev, needs to step up and only seen a few Dusmatov amateur fights. AK is already there and has shown his quality, he's superb at 122, great division in the present and of course, the future.
Agreed. I was pretty high on Madrimov but the Walker fight made me pump the break a bit, he looked gassed and was getting outboxed for a bit. I like Giyasov but feel like he fights too reckless, needs to calm down a bit in there. Jalolov looks good but needs to get his ass back to the pros. And yea, need to see more of Ergashev and Dusmatov. And Akhmadaliev needs to get back in the ring soon, wonder whats going on, would like to see him unify with the other champions.
Akhmadaliev was supposed to be fighting Iwasa (interim IBF champ) on March the 13th but I'm assuming that isn't happening for now.
Madrimov took the fight on a few weeks notice so not the best version of him but I agree. A lot of the fighters you listed will be fighting on a Matchroom show in Uzbekistan in the future.
