What are the best versions of ATG Heavys what Tokyo Douglas or "Godzilla Killa" as teh Japanese call him, you would FAVOUR (by 51% or more) Bummy Douglas to beat by Decision or KO/TKO??? I will start my list off now, and add more ATG's later. You can use past-prime, green, shot, whatever versions, choose teh best version you think Bummy would likely not lose to. Old Foreman should be a separate ATG than youthful Foreman, for teh purposes of this thread.

GOAT Ali - 1976 ("Gentleman" Young fight) [Shot and overweight]

    Lion Lenny - 2001 (1st Rahman fight) [Altitude-Sickness, past-prime and v.Undertrained]

Big G Foreman - 1977 ("Gentleman" Young fight) [Life-Threatening Dehydration and Depression]

Big OG (Old Gangsta) Foreman - 1993 (Morrison fight) [Uninterested and bored]

Smokey Joe - 1976 (2nd Foreman fight) [Shot and overweight]

    Foreman Hooooooooooooooooooooooook!:rasta

    Joe Louis - 1950/51 version.
    Mike Tyson anytime after 1991.
Larry Holmes - 1985 and beyond.

This Douglas may beat a Prime Joe Louis. Controversial I know but he has the jab, movement, speed of Billy Conn while being a SHW with the reach and power to match it.

This Douglas could beat allot of All Time Greats, the package he had that night was a sensational one. I certainly see him easily beating anyone pre-Louis

Probably any version of Foreman, monocled or un-monocled, other than the absolute Peak George of '73/'74.

How do you like them apples, Hook?

That Buster was an absolute monster. He was in extraordinary shape, he was focused, he was letting his hands go and he was willing himself through shots that he would not have taken 3 years prior. This guy beats the best version of several atgs...

    Johnson
    Dempsey
    Walcott
    Charles
    Marciano
    Patterson
    Liston

...not to mention the faded version of many more...

I'd say Holmes of '73-'77 & '82 onwards loses to Tokyo Douglas.

Buster looked great against a out of shape flat footed drained lethargic Tyson so people think "he could have beat any fighter that night" Nope dont buy it.

I agree that Tyson was lethargic and flatfooted but if you watch the fight one more time and focus more on Douglas, you'll notice things that many HWs would have trouble dealing with. Pay close attention to his length, work rate, hand speed and toughness. These are attributes that transcend eras and that is why I posted what I did...

How was Tyson 'drained' People make too many excuses for this loss, Tyson wasn't at his 100% best or on top of his game but he was still very near to prime

The thing that made Tyson look bad was Douglas defence movement, speed, countering and jab. No he wasn't at his best and if he was at his best maybe he wins, MAYBE

He certainly was in his prime. By all accounts ive heard his training was nowhere near up to par though. I'm not a Tyson fanboy either I think hes overrated. I just dont by the whole Buster was the GOAT that night saying. Quite a few heavyweights would have beat him that night. Tyson was sluggish, his legs looked weak, was standing straight up too often. Not using his jab nearly enough as he had in the past. Been about 5 years since ive watched it an Ill check it out again.

tyson was weight drained his weight was 248 pounds on the dot 2 weeks before fighting james douglas // he used saunas to dehydrate water weight and starving himself to lose fat weight // why deny it
