This is actually true from what i've read, Tyson's crash diet for two weeks before facing Douglas was a light salad & a watery low-fat soup per day, while his training consistented of muscle relaxation exercises, short light jogging, & losing water weight in hotel saunas by that late point in his Tokyo camp. No joke.

And yet he still dropped the best and most motivated version of Douglas there ever was. A brilliant performance but not sistine chapel worthy.

it was 14 seconds long the long count in the 8th round and tyson haters always say tyson got a 14 second long count in the 10th round but they dont mention round 10 comes after round 8 so round 10 ko only happened because of long counting in round 8 otherwise it would of been tyson ko8 douglas with a normal count

That version of Buster would not have beaten prime Mike Tyson. Now he is beating arguably the number one HW of all time.

He got knocked down in the fight by out of shape Tyson and would have been KOed if Tyson had any stamina.

What next? Pavlik who beat Jermaine Taylor beats Harry Greb?

prime marciano is 184lb too small too light

douglas a athletic 47lb bigger, 6" taller, 16" reach adv, faster hands and faster feet

184lb equals a average lightheavyweight today

Me and you have always been a big proponent of Tokyo Douglas, although I'm sure I probably find more credit to Douglas than I do fault with Tyson considering how sensational he was.

I've also seen Stonehands write he was the most fluid modern SHW. Can't say I disagree.
