I've been sparring more recently and i've loved it, learnt to take and give a punch however ive found im not moving my head enough and i'm quite stiff in the ring.

I was wondering what you all think the best ways to train this is? Ive got a double end bag and i can obviously use this as a slip bag, and then shadow box, but i thought it would be a good idea to ask some more experienced people what drills they've used a lot in the past and have found helpful!

learn how to move from the ground up. You never move just your head.

Sometimes too many people look for training solutions/drills/tools to start doing something (or stop) outside the ring.

Often, the best solution is to just do it. Sparring itself is one of the best training methods out there. Your primary focus should be to practice those principles in the ring. Often people treat sparring like a competition between them and their teammates. It's practice. Nobody wins or loses, you are simply there to practice strategies and techniques.

Ask yourself, is it more effective to have a trainer slap your head with a pool noodle while you try to move it? Sure that can help. But how's it any better than trying to slip punches in with an actual sparring partner? You just need to be conscious of what you're trying to achieve in sparring, and maybe work on one thing at a time.

Shadowbox and keep moving, after every combo throw in head movement and step for different angle, do same thing for double end, heavy and maize bag and you improve greatly, also when you move head, throw a punch to get used to countering.

Seeing the punches coming, learn which way to slip to avoid each different punch.
