I'm sorry to derail the forum by making a non-Floyd/Pac thread but I'm going to do it anyway, so **** you. To say us boxing fans are spoilt for choice this weekend would be an understatement. This weekends boxing extravaganza begins in Germany with Martin Murray's challenge against stay at home cherry picker and benefiter of corrupt judging, Felix Sturm. No doubt Murray was chosen as an easy defence for Sturm and in all likelyhood, he will be. Murray has only proven himself at British level and, even though Sturm is nothing special, he'll still probably have too much for the Mancunian. Tomorrow night is when the real action takes place though. A heavyweight double header in Finland sees Russian, Alexander Povetkin, take on Cedric Boswell and hard hitting heavyweight prospect, Robert Helenius, takes on Dereck "Del Boy" Chisora. The latter fight interests me more. Can Helenius do what Tyson Fury could not and stop the African-Brit? Chisora has come in in noticably better shape than he did last time out, can he put his last poor performance behind him and be competitive or even pull off the upset? Across the pond brings us to one of the most highly anticipated grudge rematches in recent history. The iron chinned Mexican cheat, Margarito versus Puerto Rican warrior, Cotto. There's question marks over Margarito's victory since the handwrap scandal and Cotto firmly believes he was the victim of one of the most henious methods of cheating by Margarito. Will Cotto get revenge does The Express Train simply have his number. The undercard sees exciting welterweight Mike Jones in action against high flying Sebastian Andres Lujan. Lujan has been on a decent run of victories since his loss to Jamie Moore a few years back whilst many tip Jones to take the reins at welterweight when two certain boxers retire. Brandon Rios also takes on former European champion, John Murray. Next up is a more intriguing fight which takes place in Calirfornia. Andre Dirrell's brother, Anthony, finally takes a notable step up to fight the experienced Canadian Renan St Juste. This is probably the first fight in Dirrell's career where we will truly be able to guage if he can be discussed as a possible future opponent for the cream of the super middleweight division. I've seen little of Dirrell so I am interested in how this one pans out. There's also an interesting super bantamweight fight between Avalos and Romero on the undercard Staying in the state of Cali we have a pants creamingly awesome double header that excites me the most out of all the boxing we'll see this weekend. Four of the best bantamweights duke it out. The highly anticipated rematch between Abner Mares and Joseph Agbeko. This first fight was contraversial to say the least and I don't think anyone can honestly say that Mares won that fight fairly. Assuming the ref and judges are competent, Mares will have to put in a much better performance than last time to get the victory. Moreno v Darchyinan is the co-main event. It's been almost a decade since a teenage Moreno experience his first and only defeat whilst Vic has suprisingly bounced back well from his narrow defeat to Mares with two impressive wins. Moreno is the more skilled one here but the Armenian can really pack and punch and a knock out is very possible. Should be an epic fight. I can't ****ing wait for it! What fight are you most looking forward to? Who are you cheering for? What are your picks? Sturm by decision Dirrell by stoppage Avalos by decision Helenius by stoppage Povetkin by decision Cotto by decision Jones by stoppage Rios by stoppage Agbeko by decision Darchyinan by stoppage. Suck my dick! :rasta
To long, stopped reading As much as I want cotto to win, i just dont know if he can get margarito out of his head. It will be a wicked weekend for boxing!! I cant pick a winner, so ill say how both might win: Cotto- tko 8 Margarito- tko 10
Seems like you wasted your time writing that ****, the response is laughable. It's got to hurt your feelings.
The underlined is the reason i read it all Are you from UK - Just wondering, cos you say African-Brit ? Was that just a describing technique, cos people from UK don't really say things like that. Made me think perhaps you are American, or other ? Nothing major, just wondering. I'm most looking forward to Cotto-Margarito, hopefully i will be able to watch it.
I'm Irish bud. Chisora was born and grew up in Zimbabwe of Zimbabwean parents. I didn't mean it in the racial context Americans would use, like saying African-American.
here we go. i was 50/50 If it was Chisora early ko or Helenius late stoppage. I go with latter being patriotic finn:smoke
