You don't think that Forrest had the stylystic advantage over Mayorga. I'm saying Mayorga overcame the stylistic disadvantage Pea.

Disagree..... Leonard proved it in fight 2 when he came in in full stick & move mode, Roberto`s conditioning was better than some like to admit, he didnt even look tired when quitting in rd 8, he quit thru frustration of Ray not standing flatfooted for any length of time.

Leonard in boxing mode beats ANY version of Duran IMO.

I've got to disagree with PBF - Castillo I being a "stylistic" nightmare for Floyd. The much more important issue for him in that fight was that at the same time he was still growing into his prime frame (lifting and nutrition to fight above 140 aside), he was matched up against one of the biggest lightweights in recent memory. This was a massive mismatch in physicality at the time, and it showed.

He had absolutely no problems imposing a counterpunching style once he had developed the strength to compete with Castillo in the trenches.

    Great thread!

Zab's "crap myself when the left uppercut doesn't score a KO" style is a tough nut to crack.

    - Hopkins had a stylistic advantage over Calzaghe, and it was Joe's first fight at the weight.

    - Calzaghe adapted

    - SD was a terrible call considering this wasn't even a close fight

May not have been impressive, but it got the job done. And we can all thank Hopkins for trying to fake his way out of it and fighting so negatively.

Very recently Calzaghe-Hopkins. I had a sinking feeling for the first half of the fight.

Vic vs Mijares was a classic case for me.

Also, Foreman vs Morrison to a lesser extent. Tommy was brought in because the feeling from Foreman's camp was there was no way Tommy could last the distance; let alone fight smart enough to outbox George to a comfortable points win.

    As usual, ridiculous.

Because I don't think Calzaghe's ugly and close SD over Hopkins was one of the best examples in history of this sport of someone overcoming a clear stylistic disadvantage (was he even at a stylistic disadvantage at all to a 43-year-old version of Hopkins, really?), I must be full of "hatred".

When are you ever going to grow the **** up and stop acting as if someone has stabbed a baby every time anyone is critical of your hero?
