Which trainers did you feel gave the most sound ,to the point advice in the corner which was instrumental for the adjustment of a fighter's game in the ring and who were just cheerleaders or gave pointless advice like "throw more punches"?
My picks Best: Nazim Richardson, his corner work with Hopkins was stellar and he often commented on what the opponent was reacting to. Emmanuel Steward. Mayweather Sr and Roger Mayweather Worst : Tunde Ajayi ,lions in the camp is his go to adjustment to every problem. Nacho Berstain, great trainer, **** cornerman all he says is throw more punches and throw in combos .
Best: Emmanuel Steward Teddy Atlas Worst : Tim Lane (Algieri's corner vs. Pacquiao) Abel Sanchez (Gassiev corner vs. Usyk)
I always loved when Emanuel Steward would get on Lennox or Wlad about finishing a clearly beaten opponent.. Also a lot of people felt Roger Mayweather wasn’t giving any tips in the corner but to me he was perfect for Floyd in reminding him the game plan and motivating him to not steer away. The worst is undeniably Jay Deas or Virgil Hunter when he’s not training Andre Ward.
