Obviously Emile had a better resume at WW but I'm only concerned about h2h against one another and how it would look
Emile Griffith was a beast at welterweight his size and power would overwhelm Pernell, Whitakers defensive skill might let him hear the bell but I doubt it
I don't see Emile stopping Whitaker to be honest. If a prime killer like Felix couldn't stop a blown up coke'd up version... Emile isn't stopping him. I understand your point, and it's valid, but how does the Vasquez win and DLH (win imo) play into the narrative you just spoke of? Vasquez was bigger than Emile and had power. DLH wasn't as thick as Emile was, so he might not have been stronger, but he had good power and more speed on his side. He tried to overwhelm Whitaker is spots, and couldn't do it. This is a prime DLH vs. a not prime Whitaker. So while I understand what you're saying, I don't think it's quite as cut and dry imo
I think an argument could easily be made for Griffith being more powerful than either Vasquez or OdlH. He certainly had a wider offensive arsenal and could pour on pressure from just about any range he chose, mixing up the attack, as he did so. I don't think Whitaker being stopped is a 'cut and dry' outcome. I'm not sure anyone one has definitively stated that. But Griffith had more in his locker than any of the opponents Whitaker actually faced at Welterweight and so I think he loses to Griffith, probably by decision - though, him getting stopped is not out of the question.
Which fight of Whitaker leads you to believe Emile would stop him? I just can't envision this happening. I would surmise that Felix hit just as hard as Emile did at Welter, and he couldn't put down a WAY past his prime and coke'd up Whitaker. So I'm honestly unclear how Emile somehow even has a chance against the best WW version of Whitaker. Further, in the ODH fight, Oscar is a variety of spots, really tried to be aggressive with Pea and pour on the pressure. It didn't work. ODH is faster of hand and feet than Emile and his pressure didn't work. How is Emile's somehow going to get the job done here? I'm not saying Emile can't win, or shouldn't win, his pedigree at the weight is better; but he never beat anybody with the Ring Generalship, Defense and Speed of a Whitaker. Not to much, Whitaker had a good set of Whiskers on him.
Whitaker isn't getting KO'd and maybe dances his way to a win. It would be close...maybe Griffin's pressure and size would wear Whitaker down and win a decision.
