Nothing for me. My girlfriend saw Mike Tyson fight in 1985 and met Floyd Patterson at the fight. She's not even into boxing and has me beat in live boxing fan cred.

I saw Holmes fight Cobb...and I'm still not over how great Larry looked in that fight (look at the guys Cobb fought in his career, he was far from a creampuff). Even though it was just after his prime (the Cooney fight marked the turning point imo), he looked like the baddest man on the planet that night. The way he moved, punched...practically perfect imo.

This was one of those time Larry looked unbeatable; they should have stopped it by the 11th round though imo.

Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't there an exchange like this after the fight?
Randy, "Next time we should fight in a phone booth."
Larry, " Yeah go ahead and I'll call you." LMMFAO

It looks like we both like to attend PBC shows at Barclays.

Besides Roy Jones, I also saw Pernell Whitaker shut out Buddy McGirt at the Scope in Norfolk, VA.

I was at the Linares fight, too. A wonderful bout to see live, especially surrounded by a group of very, very enthusiastic Ukranians while we all cheered on Loma.

I got to see Hagler against Minter; Chitalada vs Magri; Pedroza Vs McGuigan; Hearns Vs Miller (had to go north for that, I liked Tommy that much!)

And on a similar vein my ol' man went to a York Hall show and next morning I asked him who was on it, and the usual names came up, and then he said there was also two 'unbeaten Americans' fighting each other that he had not heard of. Turns out the 'Unbeaten Americans' were Frankie Randall and the American as apple pie and unbeaten as a right hand from Ramirez, Edwin Rosario.

Oh man PW!!!! Would have LOVED to see Whitaker in action.

I so wish I could have seen Matthew Saad back in the day.

That's Cobb! He said later he feels if the only thing he gave the world was Cosell's retirement from commentary, he did alright by that fight. Though I loved Howard in the 70s, he became excruciatingly irritating imo in the 80s and was due to go a good amount of time before Cobb-Holmes.

Yeah, it was excellent. Looked like Loma was just going to breeze through him until the shock of the knockdown. Great ending too. A great night.

I think I’ll go back out there if he fights for the fourth title there.

I went and saw John L Sullivan vs Jake Kilrain. What a fight! Some great action there boys; Sullivan was a real man.

Those were the good old days.

Wladimir Klitschko (vs Brock and Ibragimov)
    Tomasz Adamek (many times)
    Zab Judah (vs Mabuza)
Peter Quillin (several times, but usually he was on cards that also featured Mean Joe Greene, who was actually a hotter prospect back at that time)
    David Tua (several times)
    Jameel McCline (vs Shannon Briggs)
