    Odds are about 1/2

Just to show how confident I am, I won't post for 2 months if Alvarado wins not that anybody cares but its just to show i truly believe you will make money or vcash betting on marquez

It's going to be a tough fight for JMM. Alvarado is bigger than him and he is no pushover. His ability are fairly underrated given how he has a victory over Herrera.

He seems to have problems with powerful pressure fighters, but I think he matches up well with JMM given his size and style.

I am seeing and hearing a lot of people picking Alvarado. Marquez has the mental, tactical and political edge.

Will he win? I don't know, but he can win. And people should not be shocked if he wins. I see it as a 60/40 fight in favor of JMM.

Again, Alvarado is big guy compared to JMM and he's got some skills. If a fighter allows Alvarado to fight at his pace, he's not an easy fighter to beat. He's got a long jab and good outside game. Herrera found this out the hard way. Provo and Rios put intense pressure on him to force him out of his game.

JMM has to be the aggressor in the fight, but he's not that aggressive. Allowing Alvarado to fight at his pace would be a mistake for JMM.

You're insane. Marquez always loses to boxers with good defensive skills. This will be an easy win for Alvarado. And that really IS a good bet, because it's a dog bet.

He's not damaged enough to lose to a 40-year-old man over whom he has a stylistic advantage. It's a mismatch, and since a lot of money is on Marquez to win, you can make a fortune on this.

People are down on Alvarado because he lost to Ruslan, who is a brawler, nothing like Marquez. But look at what Alvarado did to Mauricio Herrera, a slick boxer. What do you think an old version of Marquez can do better than Herrera?

Alvarado open for the Marquez uppercut on the inside . He leans his head in.

Alvarado is not a good boxer and is terribly overrated. Marquez has all the tricks in the book and the punch to hurt him bad. Still has the stamina to go 12 and the quickness to pull the trigger. I would be surprised if JMM doesn't win by KO.

Alvarado by no means is a boxer, and he doesn't have good defensive skills either.

It depends on what Alvarado has left in the tank after the 3 back-to-back brutal wars

And it depends on what JMM has left. He is what, 41? And it'll be nearly 18 months since KO6 so JMM may well look old in this fight. Alvarado can box reasonably well, if JMM is really faded then maybe he can box well enough to eek out a decision. JMM is a different fighter than Rios and Provodnikov, who were high quality pressure fighters whom Alvarado struggled to keep off him. JMM isn't as his best when forced to chase a fight or pressure a guy, 41 year old JMM is a guy you have to try and box and move with, not exchange with imo. So there are 2 main questions in this fight for me at first glance

    1) What both guys have left (Alvarado after the wars, JMM after long career, possible lack of motivation, and will age catch up on him?)

    2) What tactics does Alvarado employ and does he have the skills to compete and box with JMM if he chooses to.

It's a more interesting fight that I had first thought when I heard it announced, and I can see why JMM isn't the overwhelming favorite.

Marquez 4 or 5 years ago overtakes a B-rated fighter like Alvarado but this is the 40 yr old version. I hope Alvarado wins b/c I have no desire to see a fifth Pacquiao vs JMM fight :bart. What can it prove but that JMM finally got old enough for Pac to beat? That ship has sailed. And then Floyd to fight Amir Khan? WTF? If those fights happen next then boxing is broken.

This is a dangerous fight for Marquez, Alvarado could win, he is much bigger, Marquez should have waited and fought Pac again to win his WBO title which Marquez wants.................if Marquez loses, it will ruin the PPV big money............
