He’s age 37 and fights like as if he’s only 27. It seems like he keeps getting better even as he gets older, especially given that this style of fighting usually wears out the body quicker with age. He’s got great discipline and work ethic. He reminds me of Sergio Martinez where he was at his best during his late 30s before his knees gave out. I don’t know how much longer he has left to stick around in boxing but hopefully he still has enough time to make the most of his career. His career was stalling for a bit but I’m glad that he’s finally about to get the big fights now that he’s on his way to face Bivol.
Agreed. Couldn't believe how sprightly and explosive he looked that first 1 minute of the fight when he was playing matador.
I like how every shot he throws not only looks hard as nails but it’s always tidy and compact, you don’t get much wild swinging or wasted shots apart from those feel out jabs
It helps that he’s a devout Muslim who doesn’t go out partying and blows up in weight. He loves training a lot and that’s what is keeping him in top shape. Incredible to see an aggressive fighter like him stay dominant at this age.
18 pro fights He's still a spring chicken Like Joe Joyce but with more amateur expierance. He'll be ripe till he's 40...then his footspeed might slow a little but that's not something relies on anyway. He doesn't take much punishment anyway, he's quite efficient and knows when to turn it up.
Agreed, noticed that most during the build up in the blood, sweat, tears ep, more Boxers should be focusing on SC Alone.
At 40 years old he still manages to operate at an elite level and giving another elite fighter Bivol 2 hard fights. Even in a close defeat that performance is still something to appreciate. What a beast.
