It might be the right move at this point, don't worry weight and use the power and brain.

He might want to try it. The Bivol fight is never going to come off, so why not move up?

Wouldn't want to face Okolie or Breidis if I was him, rest he can beat.

Not a big light heavy? I was shocked he even made the weight division when he turned pro. He had been fighting in the 200lb division beating up Usyk prior to that.

That was at 200lbs (91kg). He is a huge light heavyweight, cruiser would be a more natural weight division and that’s where he was when he was younger.

Cruiserweight isn't worth him bothering with until he fights Bivol. Even then he should stick with 175, if he can make the weight. There's alot more prestige in being the Light Heavyweight Champion. But he would fill out just fine at 190/200 and I would favor him to beat everyone there, maybe even Breidis, too.

    MW (72,57 g) - SMW (76,2 kg) - 3,63 kg
    SMW (76,2 kg) - LHW (79,38 kg) - 3,18 kg
    LHW (79,38 kg) - CW (90,72 kg) - 11,34 kg

Jump from LHW to CW is big, big chalenge for everyone.
    Even for Beterbiev.

As previously said, he fought at 200 lbs in the amateurs, so he should do fine in that division as a pro as well (even though pros are bigger at that weight with the day before weigh-in), but he won't have the same edge in strength and power of course.

''It would theoretically be interesting for me to meet with Usyk in the professional ring, although I don’t know how likely this would be. When I boxed with him, I weighed 185 to 187-pounds and right now I do not plan to gain weight" -- Artur Beterbiev 2018

So is AB a weight bully at LHW?

I love the Crawford, Spence, Haney, Teo apologists calling ANYONE a weight bully. Beterbiev is at his proper weight. In the amateurs they have same day weigh in so fighters fight at a higher weight. He’s not boiling down to make the weight like Haney, Teo and Spence. The guy is old and doesn’t have a huge frame. Why not call out the real weight bullies? Hmm…

I don't care if guys kill themselves to make weight! I don't like hypocracy an biased posters.
Personally I think your full of ****. How do you know AB doesn't drian himself down? How can you explain AB fought at a much higher weight when he was younger? Why do I have a feeling if the guys you mentioned fought 20+ pounds higher in the AM's you wouldn't use that as proof of their weight bullying?

I explained it but apparently not thorough enough for thick headed twats like you to understand. Amateurs have same day weigh in so it’s not uncommon for guys to fight at higher weight in the amateurs. Didn’t Andre Ward fight at LH in the AM’s? I’m sore you have no problem with that because he fits the demographic you support without question.

Aren’t you one of the guys who says amateurs don’t mean anything? AB never looks dead on tue scales like Teo has looked or Commey has looked. Crawford fought at 140 and was hydrating 20 pounds for fights. Beterbiev isn’t huge, he isn’t the tallest LH and doesn’t look like the walking dead at any of the weigh ins I’ve seen. He looks appropriately sized for a LH. Browne, his last opponent seemed to have a size advantage.

Go spew your ignorant BS somewhere else. I don’t have the time to spoon feed every little detail to mentally challenged types like yourself. If you have a caretaker, ask her to read it to you while she feeds you your rice pudding and changes your diaper. Stupid ****.

um no. frame wise he's a massive 175lbs guy he was a heavyweight in the olmypics. he's just below 6 feet so he's shorter.

He'd do really well. He's a huge puncher for his weight and would still be a huge puncher at CW. He might need to change his style a bit though. Adopt more of a Marciano crouch to get in on the taller guys.

Remember he's one of only a tiny handful of guys who've ever dropped Usyk. That puts him in elite company.
