Thanks for pointing that many guys fight at higher weights in the AM's. Goes to show that many of them, including AB weight drain. It's part of the sport. But guys like you seem to only critisize a select few for doing it. Why? As far as me saying AM's don't mean anything in the pros. You're right I said that, but in terms of considering ATG status, not weight. You further support my claim that AB is a weight bully because if there were same day weigh ins in the pros, he would be fighting at cruiser weight. Again, I have no issue with fighters draining themselves, just as long as they do it legal.
There's a 25 pound jump in weight from LHW to CW, and Beterbeiv would no longer have a major size advantage. Why do people think he'd do well?
I would’ve said possibly, but someone posted above that he was only weighing in at 185-187 when at heavyweight in the amateurs. So no he is isn’t.
You guys who ALWAYS talk about weight bullies.... get the **** over it! That's how it's been for the last 30+ years and accusing EVERYONE (especially guys one doesn't like) just makes you look whiny. EVERYONE has the same ability to gain as much weight as their opponent in this corrupt as **** sport. If a few guys want to fight at their natural weights....well, good for them. They know what they are up against, and they aren't starting threads to cry about it.
Add to the fact he's pushing 37yrs of age? I'm sure in the age of 4 belts he might grab one but the better fighters are probably a bridge too far.
If he doesn't get the Bivol fight by 2023 Fall, he should move to Cruiserweight. Most likely this fall will be Bivol v Buatsi (Hearn is insistent on this match up rather than Zurdo) and Beterbiev vs Yarde Early 2023 - Bivol vs Canelo rematch unfortunately and Beterbiev vs WBC mandatory (between Callum Smith and Bauderlique eliminator) Fall 2023 should be Bivol vs Beterbiev but if we don't get that, Beterbiev should be at Cruiserweight.
