He's 37, though. When is he going to do it?

He should do a catchweight with Usyk.

Beterbiev is a miniature light heavyweight George Foreman. He isn't one of reflexes and quick hands, but of raw technique and primal power. An intelligent clubber

He will age very well for the years to come and if Ruiz can beat Joshua, it's absolutely free game at heavyweight.

Minus Usyk and Fury of course

He's under 6ft so it's going to be hard, but I'd be curious to see it.
Problem is the big fighters are all well drilled in hugging tactics so even if you get inside, they often just tie you up. Not sure how well he'd get his punches off effectively when in range.

Beterbiev was a 201-pound heavyweight as an amateur, just like Wilder, Usyk, Mercer, Morrison, Tua, Tyson, etc

He's just a drying-out master. If weigh-ins were the day of the fight, he wouldn't be a light heavy.

The reason behind this is not that Beterbiev is such a large dude. He had to compete at heavyweight since 2010 because the Olympic coaches in Russia made him and Egor Mekhontsev (who would eventually become the 2012 Olympic LHW Champ) to switch weight classes. Prior to that Beterbiev comfortably competed at 81kg (LHW).
It was evident he was undersized for the weight which backfired. Same result if/when he decides to move up to cruiserweight/heavyweight.
P.S. he kinda wasted his prime trying to become Olympic Champ. He should've turned PRO earlier it suits his style and physical attributes better.
P.P.S. He's envious of Usyk's achievments. That's why he mentioned moving up to HW. Usyk is far more accomplished fighter both amateur and pro, made much more money

No he did not. That was the HW limit.

    He was well under it

Mike Tyson wasn't a large dude either.

Beterbiev was a 201 pound heavyweight before he turned pro. Just like Mike Tyson, and Wilder and Usyk and Mercer and Morrison and Frazier, etc.

He wasn't just quoted as saying he's ready to move up to cruiserweight or bridgerweight.

He said he wants to fight at Heavyweight.

And I agree. He should've been fighting there. Just like his peers.

If he can't get a fight with Bivol next, he might as well move up. he'll make far more money.

Wilder should fight Beterbiev in Wilder's comeback fight and in Beterbiev's first fight at heavyweight. World Light Heavyweight Champ against a former heavyweight champ.

That would be an awesome shootout.

Beterbiev wouldn't beat anyone in the top 10.

Let's be realistic. Callum Johnson dropped Beterbiev and hurt him badly. What do you think a right hand from Joshua, Wilder or hell, even Joyce or Whyte would do?
