If Ward is dumb enough to accept this fight.

    Agreed.

However the thief knows better than to go anywhere near Artur.

Yes because even when Ward goes into stinkeroo college wrestling mode it won't work because from what I seen last night Beterbiev creates enormous power from short punches on the inside, total different set of challenges to Kovalev who does his best work at range?

I don't think Ward would get in the ring with Beterbiev infact I'll bet the whole division except maybe Kovalev will want nothing to do with him?

    Beterbiev would lose that fight.

All because Kovalev defeated Ward doesnt mean Beterbiev would get the same exact result .

Theres levels to this thing called boxing.

Ward is straight up too crafty and experienced for Artur.

He has a punchers chance, buts its a very small punchers chance TBH

    If jab,hold n wrestle is
yes but Would Ward use his undoubted boxing skills against Beterbiev like he did against Barrera?
I don't think I'm in the minority when I say that Wards other methods in wrestling for twelve rounds can be classed as boxing infact I'd go as far as to say if anyone else tried that crap on for twelve rounds theyed be on the losing side,Ward is so fast even now and elusive and really box as we saw against Barrera but that stuff against Kovalev is just straight up wrestling/survival mode and is awful to watch is it not?

This early Christmas present Ward got could really wind up hurting him in the long run. He will not give Kovalev a rematch and will never give any of the new wave, especially Beterbiev an opportunity. He will either start dropping belts or slink of into retirement. Getting beaten up by Kovalev over 12 rounds is going to make him even more cautious choosing another opponent if he even fights again.

From a historical standpoint; anyone with sense will look down on Ward for all of this.

Not that it matters, but I didn't see Kovalev giving Beterbiev any title shot. He could have gave him a shot instead of Chilimba. What's up with that.

Beterbiev is a terrible stylistic opponent for Ward. I think Kovalev is the only one who can potentially stop Beterbiev in the division and maybe some other hard puncher has a puncher's chance.

He did, after beating Mohammedi, he offered him a fight in Russia and Beterbiev declined

    - You have said before that Beterbiev should go through elimination fight to be granted his shot at your title. Now you want to fight him ahead of the queue. Are you that confident in your victory?

    - I’m always confident in my abilities. There are certain goals to be achieved, and I’m doing my best to achieve them, to live my life and to improve. I’m getting more experienced and wiser with each passing day. A natural idea came to my mind – to fight in my homeland. Why not? From one point of view, I don’t wish to give Arturchik [a diminutive form of Artur in Russian, which can also be considered pejorative in the certain context] a ground to get fame all over the world (by fighting me). He is known well in Russia, but by getting a shot at my title he will have a chance to get fame worldwide. On the other hand, it’s an exciting chance to crush his career instantly. I have never avoided any challenges. My principle is to give fans what they want – a thriller.

I tried to find that interview but I couldn't. I don't doubt the statements from Kovalev but I do question the declining of the offer to fight. I would like to definitively read about the offer and the turndown. Just don't sound like something Beterbiev would do.

It was a trap. Artur is Chechen, Kovalev wanted him in Moscow at a 75/25 split... you do the math, with all the drug scandals tied to Russia recently. The decision was made for political reasons. BTW Beterbiev wouldn't see anything with Long Range Ward (let's face it, he's not going inside on Artur) that he hasn't seen against Usyk in the ams.

Dude; Team Kovalev offered Beterbiev a title fight in Moscow after he beat Alexander Johnson. His team turned it down then he wound up needing to have bone spur surgery on his right shoulder.
