Mike Tyson turned pro with no fanfare in 1985. He lost twice in the Olympic Trials to Henry Tillman. He had 15 fights in 1985 and 13 in 1986.

That's right, TWENTY EIGHT fights in his first two years. THAT'S WHY they got behind him. I like Beterbiev, and think he's the best LHWT in the world right now, but just sayin, Duh Man ain't alway tryna' hole ya'll down.

Beterbiev lacks the explosiveness of Tyson but I agree with you that supremely talented foreign fighters are often overlooked and receive second-class status by many in the American MSM. Frankly, it is disgusting.

he has the weakest resume at 175 for a champ. he's going to fight the number 9 contender for years to come because nobody wants to face him.
Alvarez on the other hand has the best resume at 175 and yes that includes andre ward who retired. I could see Beterbiev destroying Alvarez the fight just will never happen.
