I don’t know what Yvon Michel has been doing with this guy, maybe Eddy will do a better job. He has a lot of shows to run so he is a good promoter to be under for Beterbiev. Hopefully Eddy can get Bivol and Beterbiev to unify.
No idea why but Beterbiev never got the support that Alvarez did. Maybe because Alvarez speaks fluent French helped. Beterbiev nobody wants to fight and I have a feeling he will lose motivation to train and maybe lose a fight maybe the next fight, maybe the fight after that. I do like Beterbievs trainer who gets **** on on this forum because he's Lemieuxs trainer, as if a good trainer can help that mess, credit to him for making a shitty fighter a world champion.
It would be a pleasure for me to blame GYM but it's mostly his own fault. He was pressured to signed with Haymon if he wanted to be showcased on PBC, so he did. He then dumped his manager Anna Reva who basically made him come here and start his pro career. He's muslim so he doesnt want to fight/train during ramadan, which has been hindering his career because well, he's not a star. He needs to fight people on a regular basis but he wants more money than he can receive, and he tried to break out of his contract with GYM so his career has stalled. Now a judge has ruled in favor of GYM, but he will appeal so he may end up on the shelves again...
It's been a disappointment. I've kept an eye on this bloke since the amateurs and he was potentially the best of out of all of them. Remember when there was serious talk of him and Kov fighting in Russia a few years back? Now who would fight him? One of the worst risk vs reward fights out there. Doesn't have much of a name outside of hardcore fans so you're pretty much going to get paid f all to have your insides rearranged.
