Is the Beterbiev hype train now bigger than the Joe Joyce hype train before Zhang popped his superman status.
Underrated boxer, for many years he has been crushing everyone, but only last year get the hype. Sad reality. You did not give him the credit for beating a lot better opponent, Gvodzyk.
Beterbiev have 300 amateur matches and was one of the best amateur. Joyce is also good, but some styles are all wrong for him. And while he is limited, just his chin and engine alone would cause a lot of HWs a problem.
The Joyce threads after he beat Parker were off the charts. He got way more hype than Beterbiev gets now. Beterbiev is super solid, but there's something about his punching to me that seems off. He throws a ton of hooks that look like borderline rabbit punches lol. I can't tell if it's deliberate or if his accuracy sucks or it's just the result of his opponents clamming up in an awkward way.
Nothing could match Joyce's hype. He was 38 and had beaten Dubious and a Parker most considered past his best. That's it. Yet he was considered literally unstoppable. The old Chinese fatty bashed him up twice with utter ease.
He was ranked as the P4P No.1 in the amateurs back in 2010 and has destroyed everyone who'd get in the ring with him as a pro. If anything he's been underrated, if he were American he'd have been one of the top 5 or 3 P4P fighters since 2019.
Hyped? There is nothing hyped about Beterbiev. He is the real deal, tried, tested and proven. Cleared out the division bar Bivol.
You mean he's finally receiving some recognition after being underrated/criminally underrated for so long by many? Strange how that seems to bother so many who literally jizz their pantaloons about the next upcoming North American 'stars' for UD'ing leprechauns in their backyard in soporific fashion and cannot wait to anoint them as the P4P king or skyrocket them up the P4P rankings the first chance they get
