Hearns was a five division Champion with highlight reel knockouts in all of them. By your logic he was on peds too.
It's funny how people think his 'clean' lifestyle is what has given him longevity. You'll find that not drinking/smoking/being fat doesn't actually stop the ageing process and only helps a little. That's why animals who also don't drink/smoke/get obese in the wild end up ageing and losing performance. Beterbiev hasn't aged as much as you'd expect because he takes testosterone and HGH, which DO slow down ageing!
Knee injuries end careers that late in your sporting life. The Beterbiev that you know is gone in my opinion.
If that's the case then why aren't we seeing more athletes maintain such form late late into their careers? Look I am not saying Beterbiev is a saint and doesn't use HGH and TRT but sometimes we have to take lifestyle and genetics into consideration too Caucus people are different from Western and Eastern European people.
HIs injury will be hard to come back from unfortunately. If he does, hard to imagine him being the same.
I fear the worst possible scenario for Beterbiev would be that he’ll end up like Sergio Martinez when he fought Cotto. Hope that won’t be the case.
I seen Arthur doing heavy squats all the time he needs to dial back on that I reckon that is how he hurt his knee.
I know certain people on here are thrilled about the injury, and are hoping he doesn't recover well from it. Sad bunch those guys are.
And if he comes back from it being 40 years old and a bad knee injury is simply no excuse at all if he does not perform at his best.
I don’t get the hate for Beterbiev. The guy’s a tank. He can possibly come back at 95% given his age and the nature of the injury. There has been success in repairing meniscus tears using stem cells. I certainly hope he gets back and can finally fight Bivol.
