He had more than 300 fights in amateurs, beat guys like Kovalev, Gvozdyk and Usyk, lost only in a few. He was a p4p#1 in amateurs. He became a world champion in pros on his 11s fight. Why don't you accept that is a great fighter, top10 p4p
Andre Ward freely admits he still to this day can't remember the last two rounds of this fight after getting dropped. That's how badly hurt he was. Not a flash KD or an off balance issue. He was badly hurt. This content is protected Here he is getting BADLY hurt again, this time by a truck driver named Kenny Kost. As you can see he was clearly in big trouble and only a clean punch or two away from disaster. This content is protected Dre even lied about the Boon KD. He claims Boon caught him as he was looking away at the ref after the ref had instructed them to ''break'' but that's not what happened at all and the video footage confirms that. This content is protected ''Referee said break and I looked at him.. boom! he hit me with a shot I never saw. Sitting in my hotel room that night, talking to my wife, I said, This is serious. This is really prize fighting. This isn't a joke anymore. If I have anything to do with this, it'll never happen again. And it hasn't.'' So by the time Dre was 7-0 he'd been dropped heavily by Boon and the punch that put him over hurt him so badly that he still to this day can't remember the last two rounds of the fight and been hurt very badly and put on non hetero street by a trucker named Kenny Kost.
https://i.vgy.me/6TrM4x.png You wouldn't call that 'square-on' and off-balance? I would.... Nonsense thread...
And? Do you think that I'm a Andre Ward groupie? I will say that Ward is a much better boxer than Beterbiev and made the right adjustments to avoid getting rocked often. I'm not convinced that Beterbiev can do the same.
I'd guess he assumed you were, there's no other explanation for Ward making it into this discussion. I searched your history, though, and it seems you hadn't made mention of Andre Ward in 12 years since signing up. It's part of the problem on this forum, there's a culture of reciprocal jaundice and point-scoring so entrenched and infesting so many threads, people just assume any critical comment about a top fighter must stem from some kind of predisposition or jaundice (this isn't Serge's hamartia, it's the community's). If an outsider to these parties pipes up and offers a simple, unaffected statement of opinion, there's a chance he'll be dismissed as a hater and the baby will be thrown away with the bathwater. I'd love to have some threads on LHW that don't start in pettiness or devolve into pettiness or, even when they do start in pettiness, are guided toward fruitful discussion by the forum's more thoughtful contributors. A thread isn't necessarily hopeless just because it starts out with a jaundiced post. Not to say it was your intent to be petty in the original post, but it happens. I'm not too bothered whether Beterbiev is a bit chinny or not. If, for argument's sake, one concludes that he has a vulnerable streak, there's still a distinction between that and being easy to put away, and we've seen fighters with vulnerable streaks do well in spite of it (even a guy like Khan was able to survive a rough period with Maidana, and that's a fairly extreme example of a vulnerable guy, I don't think Beterbiev's issues are that bad). There are other intangibles involved. We'll find out more about him soon enough, just as we found out about Ward (really good chin).
Some have described Juan Manuel Marquez as chinny, merely on account of the number of times he was sat down. If he's chinny, he sure did great in spite of it.
And got up immediately. He wasnt even hurt or dazed. He also finished the round strong. Haters need something to hold onto. Beterbiev will keep knocking out their heroes.
And got straight back up. Chinny guys stay on the floor looking at stars wondering what day it is. You wanna see chinny? Look no further than Kovalev.
If he’s so chinny, why didn’t canelo fight him as opposed to kovalev who was in a world of hurt against a guy with 19 amateur fight? Why was he ducked as Andre wards mandatory?
You said ''Only 15 fights and he's getting dropped'' I just provided you with a great example of a fighter who was not only dropped in under half that amount of fights but was badly hurt on two occasions in under half that amount and there's no ambiguity about the KD or him being out on his feet after getting clipped by a trucker. He was badly hurt in both instances. And Dre would've been dropped way more in his career if he didn't make the ''right adjustments'' by spending half his fights octopus grabbing his opponents to death. But Artur won't do that because he's not scared of entering into honest exchanges and he doesn't come to stink out the joint.
