He's 38, of course he's slowing down. He's still one of if not the best at 175 and he's going to brutally, absolutely, destroy Yarde.
Notwithstanding the tittering, I don't think Yarde meant any disrespect. But a Beterbiev episode can't possibly end well for him. Two different levels of fighter.
It wasn't bad but it was Beterbiev's reaction that's amusing And the fact he doesn't have to try to be intimidating Yarde laughed it off but I can sense from his reaction and one or two other things he said he's finds him a bit intimidating too
Strange career Yarde's having. String of deeply domestic fare, huge step up. Another string of deeply domestic fare, another huge step up. Nothing really to bridge the gap in opposition class and fill in those experience gaps.
He does have talent but he's 1-2 against the only two fighters with a pulse he's fought and one of them hasn't beaten anyone with a pulse other than him. It's crazy he's received two title shots given the abysmal level of his opposition.
And to deserve the no1 spot is ridiculous,he should a fought Ramirez or Callum Smith or Jonhson at least.
Callum Smith is the Smith that he'll be suggesting pain is awaiting him. Only Bivol stands a chance. A clever boxer.
beterbiev is a ****ing monster,I really like watching him train and fight,I just feel like you can learn so much from him,his discipline and his focus
His five previous opponents prior to his first world title shot against Kovalev Nikola Sjekloca 32-4 KO 27% (he was a career SMW and 39 y/o IIRC) Tony Averlant 26-9-2 KO 11% Dariusz Sek 27-3-3 KO 27% Walter Gabriel Sequeira 21-4 KO 47% Travis Reeves 21-4 KO 30% After losing to Kovalev to now Diego Jair Ramirez 4-48-3 KO 4% Dec Spelman 16-4 KO 37% Lyndon Arthur 17-0 KO 66% - loss Alex Theran 23-5 KO 48% Lyndon Arthur 19-0 KO 66%
Good post, Great hard working fighter no bs, no being lame, showing off acting like he's all that, always training trying to better himself without all that overconfident talk that you hear so often, I would like to see him against Bivol, we've waited long enough.
I agree. It's overdue. In my opinion, Bivol will chase the Canelo carrot for big money in a rematch. Plus there's also a possibility that Zurdo beats Bivol too. Never say never. He'll outweigh Bivol by a good 20lbs on fightnight and he's naturally much bigger and stronger too.
