He's slowed down but as you say he's added new wrinkles to his game

It's a real shame we may never see Beterbiev vs Bivol or if we do the former will be 38-39 by the time it happens. We should be seeing it next

Yeah you could be right about that,

Who do you think takes that between Beterbiev & Bivol, think Bivol would be able to escape the onslaught & pressure, very intriguing fight them two should have already fought, felt like Bivol's management had other plans.

Yeah slowing down per fight, but still at the moment is very strong & durable, it would be a damn shame, think they're going to circle some more before if at all facing each other.

They both want it. OG Bob doesn't want it

Yup & perhaps Bivol's Management isn't rushing for it either, with this new Canelo win under them i think its given them more confidence & of course ability to ask for a higher purse, so it's headed in a better direction now.

He's noticeably lost a step. You could clearly see against Joe Smith Jr. that Beterbiev had lead feet. He showed solid footwork as far as technique, but had no giddy-up in his step whatsoever. A far cry from his early 30s.

yeah he has slowed down it’s his feet where it’s noticeable but he’s still absolutely incredible it’s not just the battery he puts on it’s the poise, In the joe smith fight when they was trading smith was throwing wildly while beterbiev was still calm and composed and also slipping punches thinking bout the next shot to throw staying calm while delivering maximum violence.

i absolutely love watching him and it is a shame that even though he’s got 3 belts and 100% ko ratio we didn’t actually get to see his career fully developed due to injuries and miss management.

He was faster and more fluid when he was younger with sharper reflexes and reaction times

Yeah it's a shame his career has been blighted with so much inactivity and that he didn't turn pro earlier. People forget he was 28 y/o when he turned over and half his 18 fights were during the first two years of his career so he's only had 9 fights in like seven years

Yea hes slowing down, but not enough to where its so obvious. I think the Yardine fight is going to be a tough fight early on, maybe even get put on his ass. But Yardine will show us just how much hes declined over the last few fights.

Not surprised. I agree. Although he actually looks physically stronger now which makes sense. Athleticism is a young man's game. Strength is an old man's game.

I think Bivol starts fast and builds a lead while avoiding Beterbiev's counters and traps.

Eventually though, the walls close in, Beterbiev lands frequently to the body and slows Bivol down enough to trap and TKO him.

Bivol touches the floor 2 or 3 times; as they all do against Beterbiev.

No shame in losing to such a monster though. It's just Beterbiev's time.

I think the threadstarter was saying that his ambition isn't slowing down. And, of course, his boxing intellect will be gaining some from a decade of pro experience, which can offset physical decline to an extent.

People have been saying that Beterbiev has lead feet since the time he turned pro. Yawn. It’s called setting your feet. I’ve watched Beterbiev since 2008, he hasn’t lost anything.

This makes no sense. Athleticism and strength are two sides of the same coin.

Bivol has absolutely no hope. He is being ridiculously overrated at this point. I doubt Bivol is even the second best light heavy.
