So yeah. That's what you think. You are entitled to your interpretation on what transpired that night. It sounds like you're having trouble accepting that many people saw it differently.
I have been tremendously out of the loop on these guys for a long time and all I really know is that the outcome was contentious and I have an impression most of the forum thinks Bivol out-boxed Beterbiev. But was this a good and interesting match that I should bother watching or adding to my list of playing-catch-up when I get to it? I can no longer even get to just the most important matches so I'm basically going for the ones I'll find most interesting and engaging.
No trouble at all. Biggest truth in boxing is that people dksab. They need others opinions to validate their own. Not me. I’ve been the lone dissenting voice on numerous topics. And proven to be right in the end.
The fight was OKAY. I probably would never watch it again, but it was exciting enough in the moment not knowing the outcome. The first Kovalev - Ward fight was a more entertaining high skill level light heavyweight fight imo.
This. I've only watched Beterbiev-Bivol once while I've watched Ward-Kovalev numerous times, and im still entertained re watching it.
Huh?? No… He didn’t there D-block. You’re thinking of the Clenelo fight! Yeah Bivol most definitely won that one! He did however lose that 0 to Beterbiev. Got out worked those late rounds. Great fight though! The better man won. No shame. It’s just Artur is a level above Clenelo.
my analysis through 9 rds. all there in detail. video also in there. open to anyone wanting a shot at showing me im seeing things. https://www.boxingforum24.com/threads/why-did-anyone-give-arthur-the-3rd-rd.727770/
Most of us expected Beterbiev to win this fight more easily. Honestly the Bivol fight was demanded because Beterbiev and Bivol had belts for like seven years without fighting and the new focus on "undisputed" opposed to really doubting the outcome. Bivol exceeded expecations Beterbiev underwhelmed regardless it was a close fight regardless who you felt won. Now a lot of people are going to chalk this up to age and injury but the top 175 contenders are a lot younger than Bivol. There is a very good chance Benavidez or Buatsi beats him.
Bivol was the first one to do it......well..Allah...er...I mean the Saudis chose Beterbiev that night.
I've been asked to go back and rewatch the fight and score it but i have no intention of doing so the fight didn't do a whole lot for me and the fight slightly underperformed for me in regards to my expectactions. Beterbiev wasn't able to really assert himself or be that exciting, Bivol did some nice boxing but again it wasn't overly impressive to me. I think i agree with your wording "ok" fight nothing more nothing less, people painting this as some technical masterclass from both fighters obviously haven't seen many fights. If you want to see high quality technical fights that are very exciting look no further than.... McCallum vs Toney 1 Marquez vs Barrera Norton vs Holmes Taylor vs Prograis
