His career was already stalling, he is one of the main members of the ‘who needs him’ club. Even without a belt people don’t wanna fight this guy. Now with this court case loss, I think this could be end for his career.

It’s a shame coz we never saw him against one top 10 guy, he is aging, inactive and his last performance showed that he is rusty. Whilst I would pick Bivol to beat him, I think stylistically he could beat Kovalev and Stevenson.

    Thoughts?

They are always against Eastern European fighters, they wanted to destroy his career, all this while Adonis Stevenson never has to fight anyone....................They will just waste Beterbiev's career for years, this has been planned. Just like Kovalev was cheated against SOB, Golovkin was cheated against El Pollo, IBF stripping Golovkin of the title because he is Eastern European, also, stay away from VEGAS if you are Eastern European.................

Well everyone involved is to blame but ultimately it is Beterbievs fault he shouldn’t have signed GYM. I guess that’s hindsight speaking and it’s shameful what the contenders have done to this guy too.

Agreed. The only possibility for him is that apparently Michel and Beterbiev are still amicable, so maybe they'll let him unify with Kovalev or Bivol at some point

If Michel cannot fulfil his obligations as a promotor then Beterbiev can take him to court.

Beterbiev is a world champion, the sanctioning bodies will want a defence of the title. That can be leveraged against the promoter.

Or someone like Eddie Hearn can buy out his contract and get him active again.

Andre Ward went through similar with Goosen promotions. It's not the end of the world.

So what happens with his top rank deal? Is it voided? The problem is will those guys take that fight. Let’s face it, I don’t see any of the champs in a rush to unify with him.

There was no Top Rank deal officially. And yes, the other champions won't be in a hurry.

Nobody forced him to sit out and sue his manager.

A good family man and a devastating fighter. The endless hours in the gym. The devastating highlight reel KOs. The fabled 1" power punch come real .... all for nothing

This sport makes me sick to the stomach

He wasn’t active, why didn’t they match him with Alvarez or Stevenson, they did well to get him to the title but at the same time it’s more due to the other guys being scared to fight him.

    Not true
Kovalev wants it, it is easy to make this fight if Beterbiev wont ask for absurd money.

I know Kovalev sent a good offer to Beterbiev two and a half years ago, but I haven't heard anything since and Beterbiev's name hasn't come out in discussion of potential unifications lately.

It seems to me that Kovalev will prefer to fight Bivol instead now.

Kovakev fights anyone they put in front of him, I dont think he prefers one or another, if the money is the same. Duva called Michel about this unification fight when the Marcus Browne fight was canceled. Beterbiev was busy fighting in courts so thats how they got to Alvarez.
