Beterbiev returns - what chance does he have against Kovalev if they fight in 2017?

Yvon Michel says that Beterbiev's surgery was a success and "fixed everything", and he wants Kovalev in 2017. Who wins?

Kovalev stops him. There's a huge gap in class here, and Sergey's jab would likely be the difference maker.

    Probably Kovalev by stoppage.

But its a dangerous fight. I believe we might see a cautious Kovalev.
Brawling with Beterbiev is probably suicide.

He can mop up what's left of Ward in 2017 if Ward grows a pair and fights Kovalev.

Kovalev steps off the gas and fights a smart fight to a decision.

Lots of people think that Beterbiev is a brute but they couldn't be more wrong, he's technically very sound, he can counter, he can cut the ring off, he's got good fundamentals in general.

There's not a huge gulf in class if any, Beterbiev may not be as good a boxer but he's not far off, it's not like he's fighting some Floyd Mayweather type guy, and he's got his own strengths that he brings to the fight (like being bigger, having a sturdier beard)

There's a reason why Beterbiev is able to walk through opponents so easily, as far as power goes they have nothing to trouble him, but and its a big but, you cannot just walk through Sergey Kovalev shots. Because you'd get brutally Pacquiao'd.:deal Kovalev KO's him late.

    Maybe like GGG-Lemieux? :think

Genna's jab made all the difference in that fight.

Really? Then why did a far more tenderized Campillo last one round longer against Beterbiev than he did Kovalev?

Kovalevs been down multi times. won a disputed decision vs boone. wasn't on team russia for the olympics because beterbiev was superior and beat him twice.

kovalev presses forward more on guys than beterbiev but I don't think kova should use that strength vs Beterbiev. I think everyone would agree that beterbiev hits way harder than kovalev.

Kovalev would need to fight dirty and take it rounds at this point hoping that a successful amateur fighter like beterbiev can't go rounds.
