Thing with Berterbiev he has arm punch bone crushing power like Matthysse and Kovalev had. Guy will catch you with what looks like an arm punch grazing punch that rips a hole in you.
I like Beterbiev, he 's one rough customer for sure but his resume lacks the depth of an all time great light heavyweight. It's not his fault ,he started late as a pro and you can only beat who's out there and Bivol has been seriously reluctant to make that fight as well. I'd have loved to have seen him in with the lightheavy era of Qawi, Marvin Johnson , Saad Muhammed , Eddie Mustafa Muhammed and Spinks. Personally I think Artur would receive some losses from this group.
I really hope age doesn't catch up with him considering he is almost 40, as he is a special talent. We deserve to watch Bivol v Beterbiev both in their primes.
John Scully has that old school story telling ability. You could listen to his stories from the road for days. Cool to hear him talk about his own experiences as a amateur and pro at the end of the video. Beterbiev's sparring partners counting down the days until the end of camp and celebrating the day they could go home to their families. Sounds like a POW camp. Hearing how Beterbiev lives his life it sounds like we might be blessed with a strong 40s run.
That power is for real. Nobody has done that to Smith. Artur’s Jab is NASTY. Especially when he uses it like tonight.
Callum Smith is taller than Beterbiev, and seems to have more muscle mass. But they're at same weight. How could this be possible? Simple. Beterbiev has very dense bones. That's why he's very heavy-handed. His punches make mace effect on his opponents due to his dense bones.
