Get ready to read his amateur stats.
The worst part about bringing up the amateur Usuk fight is that Usyk has vastly improved since then and has gained both muscle weight and tons of experience as it was over a decade ago.
I can think of a guy who also gained muscle and experience since that time.
Does he weigh 220 lbs?
Usyk has the physique of a skinny guy who drinks Bud Light all day.
Good for him.
Let me know when Beterbiev has beaten some 6'3 220 switch hitters with good speed and power. I'll even lower the bar to 200 for cruiserweight. If he beats a cruiser that somewhat fits that description then I'll entertain this stupid discussion again.
Nothing is impossible. But we’d have to see how he’d fair against full fledged heavies who were between 205-225. Artur Beterbiev is a 37 year old light heavyweight who has never fought outside his own division and has only appeared in a pro ring maybe 18-19 times at that. And while he’s beaten some of the current better light heavies I wouldn’t call any of them terrific. Right now it’s a stretch to say that he’d beat someone like Tim Witherspoon or Gerry Cooney
Witherspoon took Bruno`s best shots, he would have laughed Beterbiev`s power.
Whyte has the power to knock out any light heavy.
Also got knocked out in one round.
Tim was slim v Larry.
By Smith who hit far harder than Beterbiev does.
With 1/10th of the skill.
