I don't think Benavidez or any other fighter lower than CW can take HW's power and Beterbiev has that power, alongside with skills and experience.
Beterbiev hits too hard His punch selection is incredible He can fight going backwards or on the front foot He is very strong on the inside - he ragdolled Gzodyk 3 times to the floor He can turn you into a corner whenever he is feeling cornered (Yarde Rd5 and Rd7) and volley off on you. His weakness is probably his legs now as he is slowing down. However he showed that has has a game plan for everything. Honestly, there is no way Benavidez can take that type of power Would love to see Smith Bivol Benavidez All in 2024
Benavidez beats Beterbiev. Beterbiev is too old and gets tagged often. Yarde was ahead in points against him.
If Beterbiev can beat Smith then Bivol, then I'd imagine he retires. Hes nearly 40 and has had injury issues for years. Unless he got a mega money fight against Canelo, I think he'd ride off into the sunset
Once Beterbiev gets a taste of that Saudi money no way is he going to fight for small money under Top Rank who have under-performed in their duties in marketing him to the boxing and wider casual audience.
Yeah, the Yarde fight gives pause for thought, but still going with Beterbiev being too strong in the end.
Which he could not even do with Yarde who hurt him multiple times and almost beat him lol. Benavidez would destroy Beterbiev too big too fast and too strong and too young.
By the time this fight ever happens, DB beats him pretty bad. Beter will be too old to be effective against a prime DB.
I'm not sure, Yarde is a good boxer and has a lot of heart. Benavidez is not a 175 pounder (yet anyway) and I find it hard to see him withstanding the 'Beast from the East'
I could see it now. Benavidez starts spamming volume punching. Beterbiev weathers all that **** and then clips him with one hit. Benavidez backs off realizing he has no chance of hurting Beterbiev or even withstanding his hits. The question will now be, will Benavidez survive for longer than Joe Smith Jr? Considering Smith has a much better chin and was taken down by round 2, I'm gonna guess not. Somewhere in the distance we hear Canelo giggling.
