Beterbiev vs Bivol - how did you score it

Beterbiev or Bivol don't have fan boys lol, they aren't big enough names for that.

This was a fight for the hardcore boxing fans, not casuals.

 

And a lot of them are fanboys of this or that fighter. You may not be one of them, but a lot still have favorite fighters and are still biased for this or that fighters.
That's why i'm bringing videos and stats, facts are unbiased.

 

Close fights are hard to score and up for interpretation.

I scored Hagler Leonard for Hagler. I scored Lopez Loma for Lopez. I scored Pacquiao Marquez for Pacquiao.

And I scored Beterbiev Bivol for Beterbiev.

I tend to score close fights for the bad mother****er. The guy coming forward. Eating your best shots like they're nothing. Doing damage. Showing who is boss. That's ring generalship and aggression to me.

But it's also perfectly acceptable to be a guy who prefers the slickster who does the cleaner work. Because scoring is subjective.

As long as your consistent with your logic that's what matters. Certain judges value aggression and certain judges value the cleaner work. Who is to say who is wrong?

 

Does not matter now. Bivol accepted his defeat, unlike his team

 

I also scored those fights for Hagler and Lopez, but I scored last night's fight for Bivol. I remember Hagler landing a lot of clean punches, something Beterbiev did very little of.

 

Didn't you score the fight a draw?

 

Beterbiev and Bivol don't have fanboys, no one is biased to either man.

Boxing is not about stats and facts, boxing is subjective.

Very very close. Would have been ok with draw or narrow Bivol win.

The 16-12 scorecard was too wide but quite hilarious that Eddie is so outraged given that his fighters have all too often been beneficiaries of way worse decisions.

 

Hitting arms and gloves doesn’t win rounds, even if you hurt the opponents arms…. It may help win rounds later in the fight, but the rounds where you hit arms while you get punched in the mouth don’t count as winning rounds because of their later effects….

 

Beterbiev have 4-5-6-8-10-11-12 on my scorecard.

I have 115-113 Beterbiev but it's really close. 4-7-8 are even and could have gone either way.

 

Live, I had bivol edging it by a round or two. But watching it back, and trying to score every exchange I had it 117-112 for Beterbiev.

Seems like the judging in this fight hinges on whether or not you give Beterbiev credit for shots that move Bivol but don’t land clean.
