On fight night, I had it a draw. I was expecting a dominant finish from Beterbiev and was disappointed it didn't happen, so was mentally prepared to see him lose on points to the more slick Bivol.

However, I have rewatched the fight and rescored it. This is purely subjective and people can argue against it. It's just the way I personally saw it.

    Beterbiev vs Bivol
    9 - 10
    9 - 10
10 - 9 [Betebiev started more aggressive. Bivol had a good flurry. Beterbiev finished stronger]
    10 - 9
10 - 10 [hard to score. both did good work]
    10 - 9
10 - 9 [Bivol has an excellent flurry and backs Beterbiev but gets countered by a big right hand and then retreats backwards]
    9 - 10
    9 - 10 [Bivol clearly won Rd8 and Rd9 for me]
    10 - 9
    10 - 9
10 - 9 [Beterbiev finished the last 3 rounds stronger]

    116 - 113

It's just an opinion. If I watch it again, I could change my score once more.

No robbery. It depends on what you like watching - Beterbiev's aggression was better than Bivol's backfoot countering.

Watching it live I had Bivol by a round or two. Rewatched and had it 114-114. A few close rounds in the middle.

Very hard to score this fight, but interested in what people score for this one.
Interesting post OP i will re-watch this with your analysis.

First watch: 115-114 Bivol (with one even round)
    Second watch: 114-114

It was a very close fight and not a robbery. That being said, I did not like the 116-112 Beterbiev scorecard, and I think there should be a rematch.

116-112 Beterbiev is not unreasonable. If the judges rewarded aggression and ring generalship then it's not hard to figure out how they got that score.

It's one of those fight you could watch different times and have different scores.

Had it 114-114 on the night, and a rewatch merely reinforced my scoring, and feel that a draw would have been the fairest score. bUt no issues with Beterbiev getting the nod as he made Bivol too passive in the last quarter of the fight IMO.

Fight takeaways for me, might be of interest in the rematch:-
    • Bivol started sharp - although seemed more nervous and twitchy than normal, maybe expending more energy?
    • Bivol's jab, and the 1/2 reset formula was excellent through 1-4, though as Arturs activity and workrate started to increase, it started to drop off in activity and effectiveness
    • Beterbiev started slow and looked flatfooted and slow vs Bivol in the first 3 rounds, and was struggling...
    • ...his activity and workrate started to come into effect more towards end of round 3 and on workrate alone, he started to push Bivol back and disrupt his 1/2 formula (which was initially doing a great job of dirupting Artur's own offence)
    • Bivol had a few moments where he seemed to - uncharacteristically - get a bit greedy and overcommit to some combos, and he really seemed to wake Beterbiev up in round 7
    • Beterbiev seemed to tire a bit in rounds 7-9 apart form the burst when he responded to Bivol pushing him to the ropes - or maybe Bivol got a 2nd wind, as it was feeling like Artur was turning the screw and getting the momentum in 4-6
    • Bivol managed to stablise with decent 7 & 8, getting back to his jab/1/2 and planting his feet a bit more scoring nice clean shots. Round 9 was his best round by far, and it seemed that Beterbiev was fading
    • Beterbiev came back with much better activity and workrate in 10-12, with Bivol being overly passive and shelling up too much in rounds 10 & 11.
    • Round 12 was much closer than I thought on rewatch - I think the perception that Bivol was really fading in 10 & 11 undercut some of the good work he did, and he arguably finished the round stronger with cleaner shots - with the counter argument that Beterbiev was more active and scoring more (but poorer quality) half-blocked shots.

    Bivol CLEAR - 1,2,3,9
    Beterbiev CLEAR - 5,6,11
    Very, very close - 4,7, 8,10,12

I gave 4,10 & 12 to Beterbiev on activity & workrate, and still damaging Bivol, with 8 going to Bivol on enough cleaner work compared to the other rounds

    Final score 114-114

    Bivol - 1,2,3,7,8,9
    Beterbiev - 4,5,6,10,11,12

I feel it kind of represented the 4 quarters of the fight pretty well - Bivol clearly taking the first quarter with sharp clean boxing, but Beterbiev started to find his range and managed to cut the ring better & edged 4-6 it obviously taking centre ring in 2nd quarter. Bivol steadied the ship edging 7-9 and did the cleaner work throughout, and it looked like Artur had tired and even looked lost in round 9 - but he was obviously pacing himself, and edged 10, dominated 11 and just did enough in 12.

NB, I still try and avoid 10-10 rounds, but this fight had some rounds that are as good candidates for 10-10 as I think we can get - rounds 4,8, 10 & 12 could all arguably be 10-10 rounds

Don’t remember my RBR but 7-5 Beterbiev. Draw and 7-5 Bivol are perfectly reasonable scores too

115-113 Beterbiev, Watched it again by favoring what Bivol is doing and its 116-112 Bivol.

I wouldn't argue with anyone as long as the scores are in the ranges of 116-112, 115-113 & 114-114.
Lets get the rematch immediately before father time gets Beterbiev.
