I mean, it is a very difficult fight to choose. Your outcome would not surprise me in the least. No outcome would really surprise me.

But changing one's mind about a fight that is so utterly fascinating does not at all seem out of the realm of reason in my mind.

I think you're going to regret this switch Rummy, but I understand your reasoning completely. That being said...
Beterbiev strikes me as the kind of guy wouldn't be taking the biggest fight of his career if his body was compromised. And as we saw against Smith(who I think was a more dangerous fight for him along with Yarde and Smith Jr) he's still in very good form. Beterbiev stops Bivol in a one sided fight.

Beterbiev late rounds TKO after being down on the cards. Bivol was lured into explosive crosses in the Zinad fight, Beterbiev has shown the skill to lure opponents into his range by backing slowly to the ropes in the Yarde and Callum Smith fights.

In a week, when nothing has changed ? We have not seen something new from them, but fans keep changing their minds within a week. That is what I don't understand

Well, my original prediction video dropped in early May, the very same day the fight got postponed after Beterbiev's knee injury.

I'd further add that I see no problem with people changing their minds about upcoming big fights. I don't think that's unusual at all, especially when the fight in question involves 2 undefeated champions in an epic showdown with a birlliant clash of styles, in what is widely (in my experience) viewed as a true 50-50 fight.

Have you never changed your mind about a prediction a few days out from a big fight? A last minute hunch? A new way of seeing the clash? Nothing?

If something happened prior to that of course. If not, NO. I said Usyk will win against AJ months before he was fan favorite. Most of them were laughting at that time. now they are his fans.

But right now, nothing new is happening, we know what we know. There is no new injuries, no new drama, no new stories.

Fans cannot say that Beterbiev was going to win by KO in september and now they are saying that he is old to do anything to Bivol. Is media propaganda really working on some people that hard ? I have not seen anyone from mainstream media, who said that Beterbiev will win.

Cool. About to watch the vid. Let's see if Rummy's still got it or if he's gotten slack in old age ;)

Great video. Mostly mirrors my thoughts. I can't really pick a winner but your reasoning is my reasoning. I also think age and injury are going to play their part in helping Bivol win. Beterbiev is good at cutting the ring and has sneaky little tricks like stepping on feet to keep the slicksters in place. I personally love his relentless brutality. But Bivol is the last guy you want to be old and slower against. Artur will need to invest heavily in the body to set up his late rally. Otherwise I think Bivol is going to be a phantom all night long. Leaning towards Bivol points win to be honest. Beterbiev beating Bivol will be huge for his legacy because I think Dimitri will accomplish much in his career going forward.

I think it's maybe harder for folks like you that see it as closer to 80-20 / 70-30 for Beterbiev to understand the flip-flopping here, but others like Rummy (and myself) have it more 50/50 / 49/51 51/49 because up until to date, NEITHER fighters have done anything other than dominate their opponents and apply THEIR fight. Something has to give, but right now there is no blueprint for either so that's where the flip-flopping for me comes from - there are variables and intangibles that we have not really seen from either yet

    • Does Bivol have more gears to go through 'when the going gets tough' - he's been so dominant thus far he has seemed to cruise in 2nd or 3rd gears, maybe he has another level, maybe he doesn't
    • Does Beterbievs knee factor in, does his age?
    • If Bivol manages to dictate the distance in the 1st half of the fight and bank rounds, does Artur get frustrated, or remain calm and adjust etc?
    • Does Bivol have adjustments to change his style if it is not working?
I agree with Rummy that NOTHING would surpise me in this fight (aside maybe Bivol KO 1 lol) which makes it so hard to predict.

For reference, you mentioned AJ / Usyk, and I had that as 70/30 Usyk from before the fight was even greenlit - bad style match up for Joshua. For me the difference here is Beterbiev & Bivol might actually be bad style matchups for the other.

I think Bivol will outbox and frustrate Beterbiev. They will stop the fight after the 6th round claiming knee problems.

Bivol with a UD. Beterbiev is awesome....but that knee....this one makes me flip back and forth when I am thinking about it. But....the knee keeps coming back in and I think it will play a bigger part....not to take any thing away from Bivol...it is just I think Bivol is so good with movement and combinations and distance that mobility will be a big factor and Beterbiev won't have it. instability in a leg effects delivery of power. Bivol UD.

    Bivol via Points.

Said it since this fight was 1st mooted a few years ago.

Nowt has changed my mind. (And I like both fighters).

Bivols fast footwork will win him the fight.
