Mismatch if we are being honest. Calzaghe is too weak and small. Beterbiev roughs him up, hurts him and forces the ref or Calzaghe's corner to rescue him from an overnight stay at the hospital.
Fan of both. But Prime Super Joe gets the W. Of course with some scary moments here and there maybe having to get up from being dropped. But Joe finds his rhythm and absolutely outworks Artur. UD in the 8-4 ballpark. I could see a cuts stoppage too by Joe.
Good match up. I initially thought Calz boxes circles around AB too. After thinking, I think it would come down to if JC can get AB's respect. If not, I think AB would keep punching with Joe which would slow JC's output, eventually catching Joe. If Joe can keep AB honest, he boxes to a victory.
Beterbiev walks through the slaps to get to Calzaghe. Calzaghe may survive a round or two as he continues to experience pain like he never had before. Calzaghe will be glad when this fight comes to an end and he can go home to lick his wounds.
Beterbiev too big too strong at Light Heavyweight, Calzaghe was put down twice by an old Hopkins and old RJJ at Light Heavyweight.
Calzaghe outboxes him comfortably until he gets slowed down by big body shots. How would 'master boxer' with an Olympic background Gvozdyk do against Calzaghe?
Never really saw Calzaghe at LHW til 36... wudda been interesting to see how he'd do had he tried earlier.. phenomenal talent but his division was 168. Gotta favour Beterbievs strength & size here.
Beterbiev only has to punch a hole through his stomach, that's undodgeable. He doesnt even need to aim at his head. Calzhage only has 2 fights at LHW, and vs shot to pieces figthers. He just doesnt belong there.
