Froch is a Brit Level road warrior with iron British mandible but he's a career 168 pounder and Artur is a LHW who hits like a big punching CW and if he moved up to that division he'd still be a wrecking machine even though he would be giving away a significant amount of weight. He has freakishly heavy hands for his weight class, a weight class North of the one Froch spent his entire career at, and he would bludgeon the easy to hit Froch into a painful stoppage defeat.
It would not be competitive. Beterbiev early KO. Maybe goes a bit longer if he decides to play with his prey a bit.
Which he has improved upon immensely since that fight. He fixed those issues mostly by the Prieto fight.
I'm a huge Froch fan but Carl doesn't make it past 3 rounds with Artur. He isn't a runner and isn't going to hop on any bicycle, and he has no idea how to move backwards in fact I don't even think he.physically can take a step backwards. This would be brutal and ugly and possibly doesn't even last a round.
This is a common misconception about Froch my good fellow. He was excellent fighting off the backfoot, watch how he schooled Arthur Abraham for 12 rounds. A far more skilled boxer than one trick pony Beterbiev. Please watch some of his bouts and reassess your frankly shocking analysis.
I think Beterbiev is ultimately too big and strong for Carl, but he won the Johnson fight mainly in reverse gear, sticking and moving (clinching or smothering where he felt it was required). Carl could walk a guy down, sure. But he fought intermittently in reverse gear throughout his career. Played the ambush fighter, too. Much more versatile (and much less hittable, when he knew he needed to be) than given credit for.
Arhur Abraham? The guy who used to keep his hands glued to his face and throw less than 10 punches per round while following you around? He made Froch look like Ray Leonard that night. Just because Beterbiev and Abraham have similar first names doesn't mean they are the same fighter. Anyway, I hope rehab is working out for you, Lee. I'm sure Carl is proud of you.
I think Froch could make it to the last third of the fight if his chin was on its absolute best form that night but there's no way in hell he makes it to the final bell and Artur is so ridiculously heavy handed for a LHW that if he's landing with any regularity on it he can take him out early. I have Artur by stoppage sometime between rounds 3-7.
Beterbiev by ko around round 3 and that’s not to call froch bad it’s just that beterbiev is a bad man and froch would have to move up in weight, couldn’t see froch Being able to handle that heat
