Beterbiev vs Marciano

huh? They’re the same height, and Beterbiev actually walks into the ring a bit heavier than Marciano did. Beterbiev enters the ring in the low 190s; Marciano does in the high 180s.

take aside the issue of same day weigh in (what Marciano had) vs day before weigh in (what Beterbiev fights under). They enter the ring basically the same size and weight.

if you want to argue that Marciano would win due to skill, power, aggression, whatever, have it. But they’re the same damn size.

 

What makes you say this? Do you have a source to back this claim up, or are you guessing and then passing that guess off as a factual statement?

The only information pertaining to Beterbiev's fight day weight I've found after an extensive search, is at the very start of this video, posted by Quick Cash earlier today, where his fight day weight is given as just over 182lbs -

This is pretty much baseless on my end but when I met Beterbiev irl he seemed quite bigger than 182, coming from someone who's usually around 175-180. I'd guess around 190-195.

No offence, but I'll base my assumption of his fight day weight on his recorded weight according to the scales, rather than a guess based on your eyes.

 

It's possible that he wasn't in serious fight shape when I met him, it was at a Starbucks after all. Not the type of place you go to when you're training seriously.

However, Bivol also said that his ring weight is roughly the same as Artur in here, yet when they were both in the ring there was a noticable size difference. Beterbiev also competed at heavy as an amateur so it wouldn't surprise me if he was around 190-195.

Again, I'll go with the scales.

It's only 1 fight though, he may have weighed differently on the day for different fights, but the 182lbs recorded weight is the best indication we have of his fight day weight.
