Beterbiev vs. Roy Jones Jr.

I assumed the hypothetical would be at LHW.

LHW Toney would fight Beterbiev in the pocket, and that would not end well for him.

 

At LHW Toney only struggled against slick guys with footwork

 

Who did James beat at LHW that would point to him beating Beterbiev ?

 

People try to say Beterbiev beats noone, but exactly particularly skillful Roy beats?
Beterbiev is 37, should we also compare him to 37 years old Roy Jones ?
Beterbiev is not a guy who will try to box, he is going to mauling you. Constantly pressure you, and be infront of you.

People on here loves to overrated some of the old school boxer, and especially Roy Jones.

And guess what i'm not saying Beterbiev will win, KO Roy Jones or anything like that, but the overrating part is so true.
But not a single one of Roy wins would have beaten Beterbiev.

 

Jirov had a similar style, that fight showed that you can't just walk down Toney at LHW

 

Na Roy really was that good.

 

And Beterbiev and Bivol is also really that good ....
For me Roy is overrated on here, just like a lot of guys from the past.
That doesn't mean he wasn't monstrous good back in the day, he was.

Yh, you're right but that proves it even more. Jirov carried real power and was generally very durable

 

Beterbiev punches harder, he would be a natural 190 CW. Toney would do better than Jones.

 

Maybe, Toney would actually come to bang but if he's smart, Roy would use his movement and speed.

 

Jones had spotty moments along the ropes. Bad idea against AB

 

I think Roy, if he was at his best would out-box Beterbiev from range.

Toney would, as you say, come to bang, and he would not be able to bang with Artur. He gets battered and possibly stopped.
