Are we really using the ams the prove anything about pro speculations?

So im assuming were holding Duane Bobick in much higher esteem now?

We're assuming Bobick fought at heavyweight, the same way we can assume Beterbiev can fight at heavyweight. There's literally video footage of Beterbiev looking like himself while weighing above 200.

I like Beterbiev, a helluva fighter.
However why just because he beat a limited fella who goes by the name of Joe Smith is he all of a sudden pitched into these head to head match ups?

Believe it or not, I like Beterbiev. I wish him the best and hope he can beat Bivol to become undisputed. But as usual, people become delusional with the new kid on the block. He hasn't beaten any murderous punchers at cruiserweight, let alone heavyweight, let alone a berserker like Shavers who often throws caution to the wind launching nuclear bombs with either hand. Beterbiev is being heavily overrated by hardcore modernists blinded by his undefeated record and punching power.

People did the same thing with Anthony Joshua and Sergei Kovalev and then jumped ship pretending like they weren't overrating them after they lost.

Shavers got his reputation when he got lucky with an uppercut against a past his prime former WBA Champion Jimmy Ellis in 1973. Shavers was 44-2 at that time. His 42 KO victims had a total of 334 losses. He fought Bob Stallings who had a record of 21-24...and he beat shavers over 10 rounds. When Shavers fought a better class of fighter...his KO's went down. He doesn't have a KO past 7 rounds...had lousy stamina...and was a lousy finisher. He didn't have the ability of coming up with the BIG punch when he needed it. Had a past his prime Ali hurt...couldn't put him away...and had Holmes on the canvas...was gassed...and couldn't put him away!!! Lost to Quarry by KO in the 1st round...Bernardo Mercado in the 7th round...Lt Heavy Vincente Rondon...(who was was flattened by Bob Foster)...and Tex Cobb...etc. Nice guy....but an ATG puncher?...Nah.

Exactly. People act like a oversized 175 champ with great technical skill and power, who already had success at heavy as am, wouldn't beat a very flawed 210 fighter who had a punch. It's glorification of a guy who wasn't that special but fought in a special era.
