Spinks by KO hes a genuine 1 punch KO artist and dealt with elite pressure fighters like Johnson, Qawi.

Beterbiev was out on his feet vs Callum Johnson with a left hook Spinks would catch him coming in and KO him simple as that.

"Recency bias is a cognitive bias that favors recent events over historic ones; a memory bias. Recency bias gives "greater importance to the most recent event",[1] such as the final lawyer's closing argument a jury hears before being dismissed to deliberate."

If I had recency bias wouldn't I "give greater importance to the most recent event" and favor Beterbiev? Or am I missing something?

Michael Spinks for me, Beterbiev is overrated.

Michael Spinks was a terror, he beats Larry Holmes, Murray Sutherland, Marvin Johnson, Jim MacDonald..

For me no doubt Spinks, maybe Leon his brother is a match for Beterbiev.

Beterbiev has taken shots from big punchers like Yarde, Gvozdyk, Joe Smith and Callum smith and while he respected their power he never looked hurt in the least. I doubt Spinks was a much harder puncher than a Gvozdyk. People make too much of that one 1 KD 10 years ago while forgetting that Beterbiev almost took Johnson out of the fight immediately after recovering.

Yarde, Johnson, J.Smith are not elite fighters. C.Smith whilst being solid has already lost to Ryder on fair scorecards and lost 12-0 to Canelo.

I think it is question mark that Beterbiev was badly shaken up by Callum Johnson who's not a world class boxer, I tend to think an ATG and genuine all time great puncher in Spinks would have Beterbiev in far worse trouble.

And just to point out most of Callum Johnson's wins coming into Beterbiev fight were against fighters with losing records.

I really enjoy watching Beterbiev. But, he is clearly a cut below Michael Spinks. Spinks would outbox Beterbiev, and, might even stop him. He is often there to be hit. That would be dangerous against a puncher like Spinks. Last night's performance against Callum Smith was a good performance. But, the poor movement and low ring IQ of Smith flattered Beterbiev. If you go toe to toe with Beterbiev, he is a bad man. But, I am not sure how he will handle a skilled mover. I am a much bigger fan of Beterbiev than I am of Bivol. But, based on what I have seen in the last few Beterbiev fights, he may get outpointed by Bivol after patiently chasing him around all night without landing a knockout blow.

Indeed. Spinks failed to stop 8 of his 27 SMW/LHW opponents (5 of whom had been stopped multiple times already) and this was mostly or entirely in the days of same day weigh ins, so Spinks was fighting men who were genuinely 168-175 lbs, not stopping everyone in the 185-200 range as Beterbiev is. SMW/LHW Spinks had a 70% KO ratio against 168-175 lbs, to Beterbiev's 100% against much heavier men.

Usyk was never able to beat Beterbiev convincingly, let alone school him and Beterbiev was P4P No.1 in the amateurs. These "glass chinned plodding caveman accumulation puncher" narratives are desperate copes that doom any opponent silly enough to buy into them. Every LHW who has sparred him that I've seen interviewed has said he's a monster and 33 year old Ward knew it was time to retire.

They might not be elite fighters, but they can punch hard, and we can't ignore Gvozdyk who can both punch hard and is an elite fighter. Beterbiev's chin isn't granite but it has given a good account of itself. Spinks KOing Artur is not a likely result imo.

I must also add that Johnson was getting his ass kicked except for that one lucky punch. Beterbiev may as well have won the round where he touched the canvas such was his control in the fight on either side of the KD. The fight was over in 4. Idk why you are making it as if it was a competitive match.

He is an underrated boxer no doubt. I think he won the olympic match against Usyk actually and Usyk is clearly bigger than him there.

I agree, not sure if Usyk has ever really beat him. Switch the nationalities and I suspect Beterbiev is 3-0.

I think he did win the Baku match, even though Beterbiev still looked to be on top of him. According to Amateur rules, I had Usyk winning that one. But he clearly lost the other 2 in either ruleset.

Spinks, who crapped his pants even before the fight with Tyson and lost before the start of the fight, Beterbiev by KO.

Spinks added weight quite well and is a genuine hitter who hung with some powerful heavies so I like him by decision.
