Have you guys not learned this lesson yet and if so why not? The boxing nostaligists and the North American boxing worshipers are never going to pick a modern day fighter and especially a deep Soviet brother to defeat one of the greats or their North American idols and they will always get bent out of shape if you ever dare suggest they could. Beterbiev could lose at 45 y/o and they'll act like he was in his prime meanwhile they hand out obligatory excuses for their boy's losses in their prime or deem them shot as soon as they do lose even if they're in their 20s. They are the equivalent of Jazz snobs. Insufferable Beterbiev KO1 Spinks
Spinks would be either a MW or a SMW today, so he would effectively be going up one ore two weight classes. Has anyone seen a fight night weight for Beterbiev? I'd guess at least in the 185-190 range.
Would be hard for Spinks to survive. It seems so exhausting to fight Beterbiev as he's effectively ALWAYS in punching range and able to maneuver his opponents into uncomfortable spaces with his physicality and ramrod jab. He also throws such a high volume of purposeful accurate, quality punches from all angles. Almost 200 punches thrown in rounds 3/4 combined against Smith that just drained all the desire to compete out of him.
This forum really loves this guy Clenlo, Fluid, Fury etc get death for drugs, but this guy gets a pass?? Lol Spinks was the HW champion of the World This bum doesn't have a prayer
I never said it was competitive I said Callum Johnson is not a world class boxer, and he had Beterbiev pretty shaken up and on wobbly legs that is quite alarming. We're talking about Michael Spinks here a genuine ATG Light Heavyweight with one punch KO power. Johnson is a domestic level fighter and Yarde isn't that far off either I don't see how either are irrelevant to a possible match up with Spinks. Spinks is one of the most awkward best H2H fighters of all time at Light Heavyweight with one of the strongest resumes at the weight. I see the Spinx Jinx landing on Beterbiev as hes coming in and its lights out. You disagree that it would be a KO that's fine but I still think Spinks wins regardless whether it be a decision or a stoppage in the 2nd half of the fight.
Beterbiev's bombs are just going to bounce off the chins of these unbeatable gods and to be honest he just doesn't possess the skills required to ever land any on them And obviously his chin is just going to shatter as soon as they land on it It doesn't matter that he's an absolute wrecking machine and can punch holes in castle walls, has very good skills, a high ring IQ and can box and fight, or that he has a crazy engine and is very tough and crazy physically strong. There's just no way he can catch these gods or hurt them with his bombs when he does. Could he even win a round off one of them? I seriously doubt it And what happens when they land on his chin which they would do everytime they throw because he has no defence at all? Surely he gets put to sleep, right? He could never beat these unbeatable gods who were never hurt, dropped, stopped or ever struggled against anyone except everytime they actually were The same clowns hand out free passes to some of these unbeatable gods for actually failing PED tests whilst smearing fighters who never failed tests or were involved in PED scandals
Why? He may well move up to CW to grab a title up there when his business down at LHW is finished And it is true
There are worse fighters than Beterbiev that Spinks didn't stop at the weight. Banking on a KO for this fight seems a stretch to me, and if anyone is likely to be stopped chances are it's Spinks as he has shown vulnerability the same way Beterbiev has and I believe Beterbiev is the harder puncher. I think Spinks will get a UD but if the shoe was on the other foot and Beterbiev hasn't had the KO streak and relatively clean account against big punchers, nobody here will even be giving him a chance. His positives are getting downsized for no reason in this fantasy matchup. Imagine if Beterbiev was the one with a 70% KO ratio at LHW and Spinks had faced the same line of big punchers (not that Spinks didn't) that Beterbiev did, it would be labelled a mismatch on this forum.
You just compared B to Tyson at heavy. Fact is Beterbiev wouldn't have gotten out of the 1st round against Tyson either. I don't think any 175 pounder would have gotten out of the 1st round against fast starting Mike except for maybe granite chinned Toney.
